E12 - The Eunuch and the Courtesan

Sorry for the wait all! We're doing a few things remotely today so hopefully that explains the lack of intro music and small delay. Hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy some more Maomao with us! See you soon for the next!-Haylo & Kiss 💕

Fyi this was the end of the first volume of the lightnovelseries this show is based on! Each season is comprised of 2 books, this was the end of the first one. It explains the season finale feels this episode kinda gives, with Maomao reminiscing on all that's happened in the past year :)

Seems like something may have happened with the normal intro music? just fyi

Regarding Jinshi being unable to "have" Maomao because she's a commoner; remember that when the current Emperor was still a prince he had Ah-Duo as a concubine. Ah-Duo was the daughter of a nurse who helped raise the Emperor, so she grew up with him and they were close. As I recall, Maomao also said back in episode one that even the serving girls could become concubines if the Emperor took a liking to them, which is probably why she kept wearing her freckles in a place that only women and eunuchs (and the Emperor) are allowed to enter.

And with that, season 1 first cour ends. You two have been amazing with your reactions so far! Looking forward to the second cour with you girls! ♥️🥰

valeriajasjajajaj

There’s no music in the intro, is that normal?

"He's feeling fungal" PLEASE😭😭 and this episode is so hard to watch without squealing at the interactions between Maomao and Jinshi!! excited for the second half!

Kor of the Son

They mentioned in the post message that they were working on this one remotely or something which was why it came out a little bit later and there was no intro music, guess something got messed up a bit in the editing.

Kor of the Son

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Maomao had booze or anything when she was at the party, I took it as she was forcing herself to smile because she was serving customers. She mentioned at one point "staying all smiles is quite an ordeal."

The fungi on his head and him sitting in a corner is an anime troupe used to show depression… The more depressed, the more fungi appears.

Lupe Benavides

React to that time I reincarnated as a slime next please!
