Dave

I can’t believe you guys have made it to Wano 😢 best arc in the history of anime

codexero_

Those big gray things were in Impel Down; they called it a Sphinx.

OutlawStar

If it had said some noodle names they would have known

codexero_

I also forgot to mention that the carp go up the waterfall to become dragons. It comes from east asian folklore.

Svenja

I can not waaaaaaait

eric beltran

It's weird they are clearly saying 'Koi' but its translated as Carp. No idea.

Kevin Garcia

This arc is so different. I watch at least 7 or 8 episodes of this arc occasionally because they were that good. After a certain episode I just let it ride.

Lee Wood

im so excited to watch wano with yall, it'll be my first revisit. You're getting scarily close to being up to date :D

Silvanus2004

Yeah, the point when the artstyle changed again, also the point when the way Toei handelt the censorship of anime vs manga is also defined anew.

Alex A

Welcome to Wano Kuni! And the age of modern day OP animation!

Freeofgreed

Yeah Koi means carp in Japanese. Also this episode marks One Piece's transition from being one of the worst animated shows in the industry to be one of the best.

DaveJin

I am so excited!!!! this will be aaawesome!!!! I can't wait for monday

EddyA

We're finally at the animation budget increase!

Tobias Espadachìn

Wano is by far my favorite arc. Looking foward to watch it with you.

Saya Scarlet

I'm getting some heavy chills knowing y'all finally in Wano. Oh my god. So excited for this part of the journey! This whole show is an absolute masterpiece, but this arc specifically, really is 'absolute cinema'. Not to mention probably one of THE best introductions to an arc like, ever. I'm going to watch Z and *maybe* stop for a bit, I love watching several episodes one after another. Please, *enjoy* ♥

Emerald

The translator is working to good

Don't panic

That is not really weird, because Koi is just the Japanese word for carp. The correct term for what we call Koi is Nishikigoi.

EgregiousGrievous

Imagine the ladies are a few arcs away from being caught up and current with the rest of us, WOW, what a ride is been these few years!

Randomshouts

I can't wait for Luffy to punch someone so hard the intro starts to play.

EgregiousGrievous

One Piece looks different because the animation really gets upgraded for now on. Major aesthetic revamps happen during massive milestone transitions, such as the visual overhaul introduced by director Tatsuya Nagamine for the Wano Arc. Watch the impact frames for now on too, they are incredible. Pause to watch them.

CoastKat

I'm so excited to watch this with you!!!!!! Can't believe we're at Wano!

Erik Župa

DId Nami use shave to hit Luffy? Nami is the only person who is able to one punch Luffy. "There's no means to ward off a fist of love." She could be pretty good fighter if she would learn to apply this to others not just Luffy :D

Jay

Firm disagree on the worst animation. Definitely dated, but very far from the worst.

diri

can't believe we're here! i adore that transition into the wano artstyle as they're caught up by the new waves, what an intro

Sumi

You have no idea how happy I am watching you reach Wano, enjoy this beautiful arc!! ❤️

The Goto Guy

Welcome to the Best, Most Beautiful Arc of One Piece!

DarnedStingray8

This upcoming arc is so good, that it could be an anime all by itself!

Ian K

Alright everybody... The meme is done. We're no longer waiting in the land of Wano

Ian K

A Koi is a TYPE of carp

Ocean Flan

What an incredible day. You're about to see Wano! It's been so awesome rewatching One Piece with you two! Let the cruise continue! Let's see what awaits at the Land of Wano!

C2-H5-OH

I had to come to the full length because the Wano soundtrack is in my top 5 most played on Spotify this year

Derek Cook

As someone who has tried to cook carp multiple times, I can confirm it is a difficult fish to cook and prepare. There are indeed tons of bones. It's essentially impossible to get a boneless filet. The meat can be mushy as well.

Spiriax

Dang, some Magikarp evolving into Gyarados Pokemon lore right there.

Dr. Puppy

These flashbacks are so exhausting.

SimStu

Smell that? That's Wano budget

yokaze

I'm so excited for you guys to finally watch this arc. I'm a fan from Japan and if you haven't noticed, this arc is heavily based on Japanese culture, so I'd love to share with you guys a Japanese person's perspectives on the cultural references that are made as we go! Already, the ocean is a reference to Japanese Edo period art by Katsushika Hokusai, which is like the Starry Night of Japan

Asher

Looking forward to this next full year of content that you two will be watching. It's going to be great to relive everything again through your eyes. Lot's of fun and crazy things happen here

Bekyyy

wano is my fav arc ever!

Dr. Puppy

The episodes finally look decent, don't they? But it's not just about the art style. LOOK at the animation. And I don't even mean the necessary current and waves. Look at their faces, their mouths actually moving, how they stop completely static stills, and the expressions actually CHANGE. They don't do cringe reaction-after-reaction-after-reaction nonsense scenes with dumb gasps. Every character is doing SOMETHING, even down to Chopper on the ground crying for Doctorine, etc. Every few seconds are filled with something new. Like a PROPERLY DIRECTED SHOW.

CrabLegz19

Time to spend the next 7 months in wano 🤩
