C2-H5-OH

As a grown man, please allow me to fangirl with you, and give you a full hearted welcome to the land of Wano❤️

Kevin Garcia

In my mind I’m like..”wait till you see Zoro..”

Veritas

Ronin is a fancy way of saying "between jobs" (a joke but pretty much)

C2-H5-OH

When my wife will ask "why is your face sagging?", I'll tell her its because I was watching the Wano arc with H&K, and I couldn't stop smiling

Snowman9712

Please don't give them information on how long an arc exactly is. Thank you

Some Japanese context (pls tell me if this is a bother and i'll stop) The red, green, black curtains are what we call Joshiki-maku which are the curtains used for Kabuki theatres, so this arc opens up like a stage theatre as if we're watching a play, which is reflected in the music they use as well, like a live Kabuki performance with the girl playing the shamisen. I don't know how this translates in English, but the samurai talk a little poetic like when Usopp was doing his sales pitch, if you could think of it like the Japanese Shakespearean language. They talk in old Japanese sometimes and they use old expressions that are very poetic. Also, in old Japan, they called girls by putting an O before their name sort of to indicate that they are precious like a form of respect. Other words like onigiri and stuff are the same, which is why you might notice a lot of girls with O before their names. A ronin is just a word used to describe someone who drifts along and has no place to stay. The police in Edo period really did run up shouting like that! There's a Japanese folklore where a person befriends animals by giving them Kibidango, which is what Otama's powers are based on.

Otama!!! <3 <3 <3

10:42 A Rounin is a samurai without a master

Devon Joseph

Ah, Wano. The start of impact frames in One Piece. The girls aren't going to know what hit them.

Devon Joseph

dawg I've been here since Demon Slayer S2, never did I think Id be 900 episodes deep into OP again.

CasaNoah

i cant even explain how excited i am for you guys this arc, been watching for almost 3 almost years now and its FINALLY here

Spiriax

Loving the hype and passion! 🔥 Although never translated that way, "Wano" literally means "the Japan". "Wa no kuni" as on-the-nose as it is, literally "Japanese land".

Arnold

Y'all we made it! PEAK climbs even higher from here. Let's go!

J.D.

Finally! We've made it to Wano!!!

Jacob

I can’t believe you are at Wano. It feels like yesterday discovering you two for AOT and then you moved on to my next favorite anime in One Piece! The journey just gets better and better from here!

Erik Župa

I recommend to girls to look little bit into Japan history and traditions because then more things click in Wano as it is based on real feudal Japan. Watching Zoro using a small Seppuku sword was for me really nice throwback to beginning of One Piece when Zoro challenged Mihawk who used a small sword. Zoro has gone a long way since then.

RAMbot

I’m surprised they forgot someone’s name, they always have the best memory haha

SimStu

WE'RE FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!!! WANO!!!!!!!!!!

Nadeem L

Wow, this brings me back, this is the first time Im watching the Wano eps since I watched it the first time. I totally forgot how hard Zoro goes on those guys, damn. I remember also LOVING the animation upgrade. I know we always say this - but you're in for a WILD time

Alex A

We are here!!!!! Ladies it is such a pleasure to rewatch Wano with y'all so much love is put into this show so enjoy!!!!

Snowman9712

To go into a bit more detail: Wano Kuni is officially written in Japanese as ワノ国, using Katakana for Wano and Kanji for Kuni (Kuni meaning land), or as a wordplay/homonym (same sound) referencing 倭の国 (meaning "Land of Dwarves" or "Submissive Land"), used by China around the early imperial period around 221 BC to 220 AD. This name was then later changed by Japan during the 8th century to the homonym 和の国 ("Land of Harmony") to no longer use the offensive character. They soon after switched to the current name Nihon (日本). But if you notice, to this day, the 和 kanji is used for various things related to Japan like Japanese food (washoku, 和食) and Japanese clothing (wafuku, 和服).

Never watched Wano only read the manga so I'm a bit hype. Wasn't my favorite arc but I enjoyed it. It was where I caught up at the time. I'll always take any one piece though. 😁

Jonathan Charles

Oh it was a good long time that the crew was last together for the weekly watchers, for sure. Zou took up the best part of a year, and Whole Cake Island was two and a little bit years in total.

Enter Pokemon trainer Otama

Hands down, the best introduction to an arc in anime history. God I'm so excited for you two XD "There's no way Zoro can get any cooler" Meanwhile, Zoro constantly during Wano: "Bet."

Dr. Puppy

My God these two are making me jealous about anime characters who I literally look like
