I’m catching up with some of the newer uploads and you happen to upload 904/905. 🤣 I’m only one or two away. I guess I’m not done.

Only a few contextual Japanese facts today! The snails they use in Wano aren't pens, but they're based off of Japanese tower shell snails that are found in the rivers, they have super long cone-shaped shells! So they're technically like a different species to Den Den Mushi. So unfortunately I'm not too knowledgeable about the firefighters during Edo period but from what I do understand, they were like the towns heroes and were super popular with the ladies, and I have this image of them being into the idea of popularity as well, I don't know if this is accurate but I have this stereotype that they liked to show off. I don't remember where I learned that. The circus tricks that they were doing is called "hashigo-nori" which originally were used to spot fires in the towns but slowly became a stunt show that they displayed at ceremonial occasions, turning into a cultural tradition that some places in Japan still do today! And what Law was wearing on his head is called a "komuso-gasa" which was worn by Zen Buddhist monks in feudal Japan (who were generally former samurai or ronins), that became popular disguises for assassins and spies and wanted criminals. The hat complete covers the face which was to symbolise the removal of ego and detachment from the world.

I love when new reactors are in the East Blue and they are like, "We heard One Piece pacing is bad, but this is fine." Ohh, we ain't talking about that haha. When you have 4 episodes and you have to skip 8 minutes into the episode and nothing still happens, you have hit the pacing problems.

Yeah there are going to be some pacing issues in this arc. Also the recaps get frustrating at times. I think it was because they were trying to keep a cushion for Oda.

I love that moment when Otama sees Ace in Luffy

hobbescrk

The last time Luffy was in that kind of a pinch, Ace and Sabo saved him. Gotta love the poetry here.

I can't wait for THAT reused scene to show up at least once for what feels like 60 episodes. I am sure people know which scene I mean

Dan Cervantes

I thought it would get better when they moved to cour, but it didn’t. However it seems there is a reason for that given the movie announcement.

You misunderstood the horse joke. No human has a 360 degree field of view. Your peripheral vision is much less than that. A horse has ~350 field of view because their eyes are on the side of their head.
