Shanks did not just stop him from coming to Marineford. He stopped him, settled the fight in less than a day and got to Marineford without being injured even a little bit.

It wasn't confirmed if they had an all-out fight coz there's no way a single member of Red Hair Pirates would come out unscathed if it was. The Navy was also purely speculating and said it was just a minor clash against Kaido. Maybe Kaido realized there's nothing to be gained from fighting Shanks.

So much for underestimating title of Yonko. I think that Yonko title must be beyond devil fruit. They are probably proficient Haki users. We saw Big Mom stopping Gear 4 Luffy punch easily. And she is not using her devil fruit in fight. The only advantage is that she is having Zeus, Napoleon and Prometheus. Haki must be the way that Shanks stopped Kaido which means Shanks haki must be off the scale to stop such monster. I am asking same question as girls. How did Law imagine to fight him? Even when having army, Kaido has lots of strong men as well capable of taking down lots of samurai. I do not think Otama ability would work on real devil fruit.

I would say it is quite the same impressive to make Kaido retreat just by standing in his way and tell him "You shall not pass" or to make him retreat by engaging him in an actual fight and force him back.

I was just listening to a vid talking about how they used to drag ronin or samurai that committed crimes (actual ninjas/bandits) and it’s a horrific punishment. Forgot Luffy got the treatment.
