Honestly if I was Negan I would've done the same because think about it if the roles was reverse would Maggie saved Negan ?

I felt like this was his chance to show Maggie he had actually changed. Maggie wasn't around for anything he did in S9/S10, so it's hard for her to trust that he's not still always up to something. The last time she saw him, he was broken and she believed that's how he'd live forever, and before that he was terrorizing all of them. I think fans who hate on Maggie don't realize how she has experienced Negan vs. how the audience has these past two seasons.

True. That's why we expected the twist in the next episode, with Negan coming back as a way to show he changed. But that didn't happen 😩
