Svengali, of course, is a very old movie where John Barrymore played a hypnotist controlling a beautiful singer. So, when Chuck says Jimmy is Svengali, we get an idea of how sinister Chuck sees him. Chuck has a point though. Not with Kim, Kim genuinely loves Jimmy, but we do see Jimmy's sinister side in this episode when he abuses Chuck's trust to do a con on him. The sad thing is, Jimmy isn't even doing this for money, he's doing it to help Kim, but Kim would not be happy about these actions if she knew. Imagine if the police had Mike working for them instead of him being a "freelancer." They probably could shut down the Salamanca family. Well, except then Hector would kill Mike's family. One of the murky things about fighting the Cartel. It's hard to do it cleanly. Kaylee didn't get the money Mike saved for her, but Mike his family did get to keep the things he bought them over the years, because he was never convicted for working for Gus. Maybe he would have been, but Walter killed him before it could happen. Oh, and given today is the 4th of July, nice to see Jimmy doing something patriotic with that "war hero," LOL!
