GTA 5 Legacy mods setup updated guide (Patreon)

Based on lot of people having issues installing mods, i decided to make this guide that shows ALL STEPS (openiv, scripthookv, game crash fix, etc.) to install my mods.

GTA 5 Legacy - Complete Setup guide for my mods (2025)

This guide shows basically ALL THINGS you must download and install to make my mods work, i use as example Superman v2.2 but it can be used to basically any of my mods. Thanks for this Julionib, this is a very crucial step that I had to find out the hard way a long time ago, because I run version 1868. Understanding which game configuration to use is crucial.

Is their a new dismemberment mod because the only one i found is like 6 years old and doesn't allow me to launch my game and i see people using a dismemberment thing and the superman mod has dismemberment abilities that need some file i can't use

test with "keep player character" also, did you applied fix for added peds?

when a scripthookv exists for it, probably...

no contorl n doesnt work. I have scripthook v installed and Nibmods installed with the Superman V2 installed but it doesnt work

you just need the .asi file of that mod, you don't need to install his DLC

did you set rockstar launcher to run as administrator?

And where do i put that file?

main game folder, this is explained in the dismemberment mod instructions, probably

you installed in GTA 5 Enhanced, right?

ok, so, you press ctrl+n, then you select the mod name in the list and the game crashes?

that's odd and new to me, nobody else had this issue before and those mods aren't so new. The initial thing that mods does when loading their menu for first time it's just load .ini files, fx and anims basically there is a help.txt file in the zips? if yes, try the "test in a clean gta" instructions to see what happens

that's a important info, "was working before"... zip and send me your "god of war files" folder and "peacemaker files" folder from gta scripts folder gtaivscripting@gmail.com

did you set rockstar launcher to run as administrator? there is a missing file that should be generated -With game and Rockstar Launcher closed use windows explorer (or any folder in your computer) to navigate to "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Launcher" (Or wherever your rockstar launcher is installed) -Right click the file "Launcher.exe" and click in "Properties" -Click in "Compatibility" and check the box "Run this program as an administrator" then click in "Ok"

the guide it's clearly for gta 5 legacy, the old one, there is no scripthookv for gta 5 enhanced yet...

Okay so delete and uninstall the enhanced got it

why uninstall? you can have both gta legacy and enhanced (if you have disk space for it)

Got it just have the legacy load the game and not the enhanced

i don't recommend, i didn't tested this way, may result in issues because probably the files in enhanced are a little different, at this moment there is no compatibility with gta 5 enhanced files, it's compatible with gta 5 legacy and his files...

try deleting their folders in gta Scripts folder and reinstall the mod, maybe it's something related to access rights/files owners, also, add gta5 to whitelist of your antivirus, maybe your AV is blocking access to the files without letting you know

i got a invincible suit ini and copied the omni man suit ini u made however when i load the game i have lazer vision aand stuff on invincible

you edited model and name in the copy? are you sure you selected correct file?

Grand Theft Auto V\Scripts\Superman V2 script files\Suits i went on omni man i copied everything starting from pedselector

i need to check the settings, initially it has no laser enabled, probably i messed up when making recent updates of the files. use Suit Config to disable Laser and Blast Laser attacks, also any attack that is using lasers, each attack have a "enabled for player" and "enabled for AI" variables, you must reload scripts after finishing your changes

no, just edit the settings in Suit Config, isn't hard

whenever i turn into super man an error pops up and it like breaks the mod can you help me fix it

Yes I made gta legacy my main directory instead of the enhanced version

How's it going brother, whenever I try and send a video of gta 5 lagging whenever I select anything pertaining to superman v2 mod. Idk if you remember me coming to you a bit ago with this issue, the game goes all the way down to 5 fps for about a minute then everything goes back to normal. Not too sure what it could be.

I've already wiped my game completely clean, verified files, etc... it's weird cause it's only the superman one, any of your other mods don't make the game do it? Haha.

However, I will say though. I do feel the performance fix change when the game stops lagging. Great work my friend.

probably antivirus in the way verifying execution of the mod, try adding gta5 to whitelist of your antivirus

search on Google based on your antivirus name, how to add to whitelist

I didn't have any besides the windows virus protection etc. Added the exclusion there

is this still relevant to do today or you just need to download the ped and the mod and scripthooks to make it work

still relevant, requirements still the same: openiv, scripthookv, openiv.asi, added peds fix, etc. you don't need to apply steps that you already did like scripthookv setup for example
