Game crash/not loading temp FIX (Patreon)

GTA 5 Legacy and Enhanced

The recent game update added few scripts to update2.rpf causing issues with the actual custom gameconfig that we have, so, we need a new gameconfig.

There is two alternatives: You can use the OIV that i attached in this post to remove those game scripts or you can edit the ScriptStore variable in gameconfig.xml

Steps for the OIV package:

-Update the game to latest game patch-Update ScripthookV-Download the OIV file below and install it choosing MODS folder 👇👇👇

Steps for the gameconfig edit:

-Update the game to latest game patch-Update ScripthookV-Using OpenIV navigate to "mods\update\update.rpf\common\data"-Enable "Edit mode" clicking in the "Edit mode" button-Right click the file "gameconfig.xml" and click in "Edit"-Press Ctrl+F to search and search for ScriptStore, change the value to 2150-Click in Save

Doesn't work for me, when I launch the game, it freezes on the JulioNIB mods splash screen. I have the latest script hook, and I also installed your previous fix. Any ideas?

You can also edit the gameconfig , just open up the gameconfig and search for "1150" it's the only line of code with that exact value and allows the game to run again as well

this fix isn't necessary if you already installed latest gameconfig.xml that was released some minutes ago... the actual one released is for GTA 5 Legacy, so, if you installed in GTA 5 Enhanced you will have issues you also need to edit the clothStore thing to 600 in the new gameconfig like its done in the added peds FIX: https://www.patreon.com/posts/added-peds-limit-123679009

you didn't backup your previous gameconfig? remove the update2.rpf from mods/update to test

if you installed the OIV choosing mods folder like recommend it wouldn't change your original update2.rof in update folder. do you have a update2.rpf in "mods/update" folder?

remove both? you can't remove the one from update folder... extract the gameconfig.xml and send the file (not the text of it) to me (don't send me the source one, send me the one that is in your game files): gtaivscripting@gmail.com

you dont need to reinstall the game, renaming mods folder to modsss to keep as backup and to disable it, probably would solve the issue about your gameconfig, you didnt edited the clothStore to 600, this is a thing you must do if you have added peds with working cape (cloth physics) send me your dlclist.xml

Hi Julio, do you know the solution of this error: 3 scripts are running but are using the v2 API (Scripthookvdotnet2.dll) which is deprecated and not actively supported.

Hey Julio I had a question. Whenever I use your ped selector and ped installer tool, (which are wonderful and I am super grateful for), I keep running into an issue. I am kind of OCD about appearances and layouts, so I want everything in the ped selector menu to be perfect and not have any duplicates or weird parenthesis. I figured that part of the issue was not having a ped selector specific name in the ini because it would put everything in parenthesis if you didn't. Anyways I was installing the infinity ultron ped and every ped I installed automatically gets an ini in the nibmods.dev folder located in the gta folder. So, if I don't manually delete that then I end up with two of the same things in ped selector. One from the ini in the superhero folder and one from the nibmods.dev folder. Is there anything I can do or will installing the OIV suit always make an ini in the nibmods.dev folder. Not a big deal if so, I was just wondering because it would save me the extra step.

Ok new error now, im getting an error message from rockstar launcher saying GTA 5 enhanced quit expectedly, this was after i downloaded the packfile limit adjuster and the heap adjuster, anyone know any fixed?

i can understand some Spanish but i prefer English 😁 about the .ini files: that's the normal behavior abd unfortunately there isn't option for this, the idea is always keep the ped in the ped selector even if user remove the mod that was using that ped model in his Suits folder

No error popup showed up; the game just crashed straight during the loading screen.

I mentioned there was an error message earlier due to translation misunderstanding. Actually no error window pops up at all, the game crashes directly while loading.

Random issue for me, but when I try to load any mod, most of the config menus will work, but the mods themself, or some of the menus, won't work at all

Hello , I recently bought the Steam version of GTA V (I was previously using a cracked version). On the cracked version, the JulioNIB Superman mod worked perfectly, including the custom Superman ped. I never had any crashes or loading issues. After buying the Steam version, I decided to install everything from scratch. The Superman mod itself installs correctly and works fine as long as I use the default GTA V player character. However, the problem starts when I install the Superman ped. The game launches normally, but during the loading screen it suddenly crashes back to the desktop before finishing the loading process. There is no error message. If I remove the Superman ped files, the game loads normally again, and the mod works with the default character. As soon as I add the ped back, the game crashes during loading every time. To make sure the ped wasn't corrupted, I tested the exact same mod files on my old cracked version of GTA V, and everything worked perfectly again, including the Superman ped. So the ped itself doesn't seem to be the problem.

The game is completely clean. There are no mods, no mods folder, and no .asi plugins. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, and copied only ScriptHookV to make sure it was the cause. The game works perfectly until I add ScriptHookV, then it crashes with ERR_GFX_STATE

Hi JulioNIB I've done all the changes you suggested, and I also tried different ways (both ways from this post), but unfortunately neither one of them worked. I have my game up and running but I'm not able to load any of the mods, Superman, Flash, Batman, Godzila. I can open mode menu and when I want to select one of the mods it just do nothing. all i see when i go into the Superman V2 script files is images, sounds and suits and when i go into the sounds folder there's no folders for the mods

with "sfx" you mean "sound effects", right? you can make a copy of sounds folder and edit the content, then set this new sounds folder name in the Suit Config option that determines the sounds folder

No, my friend, the problem is within the weather file, as the mod adds weather that does not exist in the first place, and that is why the game does not work in the first place. The solution is to delete any weather except the original one without changing the existing values.

and why the crash is my mods fault? just because the crash happens when using the powers, doesn't means the mod is the guilty one. you probably added peds (which makes game more unstable) and have other mods running, don't blame me for everything that happens in your game...

crash eventually but my usage is very different, i run only the current mod im working on to improve scripts reloading performance and reduce chances of game crash, but eventually i test specific mods to see if there is issues when user reports them, latest time i tested superman mod, for example, it last more than 40 minutes and game didn't crashed unfortunately game isn't stable for modding, scripts interaction may lead to random crashes (like fights), added peds makes game more unstable, huge DLC packs too, problematic gameconfig, etc.

I dont know if the issue your describing is my issue, but I did everything in the tutorial, and loaded up rockstar games, I did install battle eye, i dont know if that corrupted anything, but whenever i load the game now it says "Error, Unable to launch game, please try reinstalling the game." I even ran rockstar games as administrator but the error keeps happening, I really just wanna know if this is will help fix that. (I am on legacy btw)

if you updated your gameconfig with the actual one you don't need this guide. Battle eye must be disabled to load scripthookv, check options in rockstar launcher

I went over everything again and I think the issue was my gameconfig—it wasn't updated to the July version. I played for a while and had no crashes :) thanks for getting back to me. I THINK the main issue is solved. The only problem I still have is that taking a screenshot with Steam causes a crash right after (though it does save the picture). Everything else works great.

Well, right after I sent that comment, the game started crashing again randomly, about 20 or 30 minutes into playing :( I'm only using the Superman mod while playing the campaign.

Estaba usando los mod de Khoi michael, son mods muy pesados. Y no tienes esos mod. Solo tienes que bajar en tu gta5 todo a Normal, no lo tengas en ultra. Y así nunca se te va cerrar el juego.

Jajaj, si, tienes razón. Porque al inicio tenía un tarjeta de video de 2gb y funcionaba perfecto. Ahora tengo una rtx 5060 de 8gb. Intenta volver a istalar de 0...elimina tu gta legacy y vuelve istalar todo, paso a paso según su video de YouTube. Y seguro se arregla. En mi Pc antigua nunca se crashea. En esta nueva si tenía algunos problemas.

I downloaded the latest Script Hook V update from July 15, 2026, but my GTA V keeps crashing when I launch it. I've already verified the game files and tried several troubleshooting steps, but nothing has fixed the issue. When I remove dinput8.dll, the game launches and runs normally, but then I'm unable to use any mods. I'm wondering if this is related to a recent GTA V update. Is there an updated version of Script Hook V available, or is a new update being worked on?

Thank you I got it working eventually, but did this in attempt to mitigate the eventual risk of causing a crash due to adding more suits\peds. The Game still loads though it now says your mod is unavailable as it is being used by another process? Thank you.

Sorry for a delayed response as I genuinely appreciate you getting back to me. You was correct and the "direct storage fix" was the issue which I missed in the "Readme" my apologies. Whilst I waited for your response I ended up using Chat GPT to help solve fix and everything else I have come across since as it checks all of your other posts and similar query's in relation to it and whilst it sounds absurd its worked thus far. Thank you for what you do for the modding community been using your mods since GTA IV to do what you do then constantly, fix, update then respond to issues and create video's too. However, my current method of installing and troubleshooting may not be foolproof.

whe you remove openiv.asi your game doesn't load the content of mods folder... did you tried updating gameconfig like i said? also edited clothstore thing like mentioned in the guide i linked?

you have update2.rpf in mods\update folder? case you have, temporarily remove it to test, you can rename the file to something else. case still, send me your dlclist.xml from mods/update/update.rpf/common/data gtaivscripting@gmail.com identify yourself and the issue

Well my game work for now after install this file "Remove Entries from DLCLIST (Basic ones).oiv" with openiv I did not have to rename my mods folder

Its no drama, but thanks for responding. Apso hadlving problems getting the oblivian drones to spawn. It would be cool if you did a Void Ped ( not just his powers) if you have i cant see it. Maybe a Deadpool, Wolverine, Scarlet witch, Maybe a Pacific Rim robot like Gypy Danger.

bro i have installeed nib mod but in ped selector this is no custom ped is showing but in mentoo stuff custom ped are spawing how to fix ??

here it's working fine, try different DNS servers, like the one by Google 8.8.8.8, there is another guy with same issue
