Hello Ali cats, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! I’m hopeful that I’ll hear back from a job sometime this week but we’ll see. I don’t want to be too excited as there is a high chance it doesn’t work out xD Nonetheless, keep your fingers crossed for me!

Later this week I’ll be making a rather “slow” but spunky character- any guesses? If I get the art done early I’ll post a wip to see if you can guess then too :P

Question of the week is this: do you have any OCs (original characters) that you’ve made for stories or other purposes? If so, tell me about them! What was your inspiration, what they look like, etc.

There was a character I made for a comic named Nasty Kat (named after the music album whose songs gave me the idea for the comic). He was a chill humanoid cat in a purple trench coat, scraf, and pants. He has a habit pf doing eccentric hobbies like build a hot air balloon for his own adventures.

First of all, that Death Note cosplay art was really cute. I've heard fantastic stuff about that anime/mange and that might be my first choice should I ever get into anime/mango. Secondly, sorry I've not been listening to your audios lately. I'm currently going through training modules for my work - and for that same reason, my current artwork is put to a halt as well ;_; Hopefully I'll be done with them soon so I can get cracking. So I guess there's something job related that we're both going through right now. I hope you hear back soon from your soon-to-be-employer! And speaking of my current artwork - it's an OC again which I guess ties nicely into this QOTW. Technically ...yes? They have been used for stories, but I never mentioned their names or identities. And another reason I add "technically" is because they were stories I created for my English essays, not in my own time. Two years in a row during high school, I used the same universe and characters for my creative essay in my exam (and I passed, because of course I did lol). I think I might bring that world out via a comic or something. I even have a name for this world. I'm planning to start off by revealing its name with Star-Wars-style cover art. Honestly... if I ever get to that, it'll be awesome and I can't wait to show everyone! Arty and Lyra are obviously modern iterations but character 3/3 will be more resemblant of the type of character from this world, you'll see! I plan to have him out within the next week! My goodness, how much did I drag this on for. You mustn't ever let me go on about OC's and original ideas/worlds/stories/etc... You'll be listening to me yap on for hours. Back when Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire had JUST come out on the Nintendo 3DS, I fell in deep love with the Hoenn story as well as Pokemon Battle Frontier Series. I made this OC (who looked my me) with wavy and straight jet black hair, brown skin and black eyes, and his stsrter pokemon was Swampert His name was Res (unoriginal, his name was composed of the initials Ruby. Emerald. Sapphire). I made him go on a journey similar to that of the gameplay of ORAS and Emerald, but I made a slight twist where the OC becomes this ultimate pokemon champion that no one has ever been able to defeat. And then eventually later on (i think i wrote a whole story - don't know what i did with it but i remember like the back of my hand), he travels to the Eigo Region (A region i completely made up) and becomes the Champion there with his team of Hoenn/Eigoean Pokemon. His team was Mega Swampert, Rootroot (Fully evolved Eigoean Grass/Rock Type Starter), Umbreon, Aegislash, Primal Groudon, and Eigoean Legendary Giyodus (Ghost/Flying) He wore dark grey cargo shorts, black and white running shoes, dark navy satchel, Black/Emerald/Teal Hiking Vest Hoodie, and a White T-Shirt. He was very soft spoken, cared a lot for his pokemon. He was bullied in his younger days but was able to use that frustration and isolation to become the strongest trainer in Hoenn and Eigo.

OC characters? Do dreams count? If so I had a fun one the other day - I dreamt I was walking home late at night up a very steep city street, a bit worse for wear after being at the pub, until I turned a corner to find a girl standing there talking to a huge white tiger. It had long teeth and claws that occasionally glinted in the dim light - but it also had thick, fluffy snow white fur and black stripes. It didn't scare me though, and the girl continued to have an animated argument with the silent tiger, complaining it had done something or other. The tiger seemed to be taking the criticism in the same sort of sulky/proud way housecats look when you tell them off (e.g. it isn't very effective 😂). Eventually, they both noticed me. The girl raised a hand to give a quick wave, and they both began walking toward me. Weirdly, I did what I would do with a big dog, and opened my arms and lowered my shoulders as it approached - it didn't seem angry, and it let me touch its fur and ruffle its head and ears. The girl quickly explained that she was called Lily, and that the female tiger was called Thistle. She talked a bit, explaining they help people get home at night, a bit like a strange bus service, something they apparently did regularly - and all the while Thistle was letting me stroke her fur. We then began walking, and I eventually made it to wherever I was going safe and sound - with Lily and Thistle continuing their late night shift. I do not know why I had this dream. I don't normally dream like this, and it is seriously far more creative than anything I've created on purpose before - but I guess they are technically OCs of mine 😂

Speaking of jobs, I work much better with my father since he pays me more than the original job I had. I could work for 1 week and make half a thousand dollars and such. Also I'm gonna guess when I see an image rather than with limited information about the drawing. My OC kinda has a story. Originally, this was one of my discord friends art. The character was supposed to be a Corrupted FNF(Friday Night Funkin') Character, yet I never knew what character it was. I bought it off him and re adjusted it to my liking, and surprisingly he liked how I re designed it. I turned his corrupted character into a 3 tailed demon Wolf, with a Blood Sword that was an inspiration from Finn's Demon Sword from Adventure Time, the Gauntlets from Omega from Xonic Madness(already told you about this during the zombie apocalypse question), and Naming him Azazel because of my liking to TBOI Azazel. Currently, he and I are working on a new redesign with him, but it's still gonna be a long time till he shows me all the coloring he's done, while I've done the sketch of it. Also something to note, I only did this art because I was stuck in Quarantine and was bored, and remember, I NEVER liked art until I tried it because of being stuck at home. The only form of art I liked was band because music is good. :P

I have a lot of ideas for characters, but I have one that I think their story has potential. It's a darker story with a lot of inspiration from Berserk. The main character is a boy whose lost his home and family very young but become part of another family, though unluckily he isn't welcomed by most of the family, except for the mother and little sister. Later in the story the brother and sister find themselves away from home and he is charged with protecting her. The story has a lot of struggle and pain abut I think that the main theme of the story so far is one of purpose. I have a good amount of characters in mind for it but I still think the main character needs more thought put into him before I really get started, mainly because I just don't think most people will like him and I need to find way to adjust that. It may not sound like much but I've been very careful to word things to not give anything away. There are a lot of moments that I want others to know about with the story but I think It's best to keep that for when It can be read. Funnily enough, until you asked this question, I had never actually thought about the character design of the main character. I'll have to give it more thought but I always did like how with the main character of Berserk, you could tell where you were in the story depending on how the main character looked.

Question of the week: I have a couple of characters but most of them have no name. (I have problems coming up with names) And I only draw the characters I don't really have any major goal or plan with them. I just like designing monsters. My characters: Name:Mimi Monster:Arachne Appearance:small,human-looking,short purple hair,green eyes,arms and legs spider-like,6 Spider leg on the back,2 fangs Kleidung/Accessoires:She wears frilly dresses, boots, striped tights, crown, hairpins and a brooch. Inspiration:Remilia Scarlet and the Gartenkreuzspinne (Garden cross spider) Mimi is my oldest character I created her 5-6 years ago. All the other characters I have are less than a year old. Mimi is my favorite character and my favorite to draw. I designed her for a game as a 3D-model to learn how to use Blender. But I didn't enjoy working with Blender and I stopped. Name:Hanna Monster:bug girl (centipede) Appearance:she is normal size (if you ignore the centipede under body), red-brown long hair, 2 antennas, blue eyes Kleidung/Accessoires:she is wearing a white shirt Inspiration:a yandere picture and centipede I always like to draw her sleeping, be lazy or upset that she can't sleep or be lazy. I plan to redesign and make her looks more like a centipede. Name:has no name yet Monster:sahagin (shark) Appearance:small,short hair, shark-teeth,shark-tail, shark-sins, big hands and feet with swimming pools Kleidung/Accessoires:wears no clothes Inspiration: my old tiger-shark plushie (that I no longer own ;o;) and Monster Girl Encyclopedia She is a fairly new character that I created. I first draw my characters with pencil on paper and only when I draw them on the PC do they get their colors. and I don't have time to draw at the moment. But maybe at the weekend she'll get her colors. Name:has no name yet Monster:bug girl (praying mantis) Appearance:big, human-looking, long white hair usually tied in a plait, red eyes, arms and legs bug-like, praying mantis arms under the human-looking arms, 2 antennas Kleidung/Accessoires:she is wearing knight's armour and carries a large two-handed axe Inspiration:Character Creation ASMR Roleplay by alichu art and praying mantis I wanted a companion for Mimi and Ali's story came at just the right moment :P. I have more characters but that is enough for now ^^ .
