Well Ali when I see your content it doesn’t make me think of anyone else in fact your thee only reason I have a Patreon account your art is genuinely unique and your role plays are entertaining and relaxing in a way that I’ve not seen from any other creator and your voice very recognizable pleasant to listen to. while I’m not an active content creator I’m a somewhat known figure in the Destiny 2 community I get recognized and stuff in game and they call me the devils ruin guy cause that’s what I do I main that one weapon and even if only partly I understand how you feel it definitely feels good to me when I get recognized in game as the devils ruin guy and not seem like just some other random Destiny creator if some one told me I was just like (insert d2 content creator) I’d definitely be disappointed. I don’t really know much about astrology and you talking about it intrigued me so I looked some stuff up apparently I’m a libra and a surprising about of those things align who I am but at the same time several of those couldn’t more opposite to me can’t say I’m a believer in this topic but it’s interesting. But i hope you have a great day I got the day off so I’m relaxing today.

Big true about content space!!! It’s like the whole ironmouse and Kai scenario. 2 big but different streamers. Who stay in there own respected lane/space. But Kai’s fans not Kai himself. Are now braking into ironmouse’s space. He’s tried to tell his fanbase don’t bully or make fun of her multiple times but they don’t listen. Like if you never seen or know what a vtuber is that’s ok and understandable. if it’s not your cup of tea you can leave or block. There’s no reason to go out your way to bully another person in a different lane or space then your.

I think your Art is very unique, but some People are a bit nosy about other Peoples creative Work. Usually these ones are not Artists or Creators themselfs so I don't care much about those Opinions. Have you heard about Aleister Crowley? He was the Creator of the famous Tarot Cards. A strange Guy but I think he's a interresting Person to talk about. I think I'm going to get the Terrifier Movies for my Time off on Christmas, haven't seen a Horror/gore Movie for a very long Time, but I'm in the right mood at the Moment. Have you seen Santa Slay? A great Christmas Movie with Bill Goldberg. Hope your Week is going to be great Ali!😊

Same, the Terrifier series just hits different. I figured I’d like it but I had no idea how much I’d love it! The humor and kills and incredibly good practical effects come together perfectly. And I get what you mean about “feeling the care” put into something. It’s why a lot of these modern remakes and reboots piss me off, cause 90% are soulless cash grabs. With Terrifier though, you really can feel the love and passion Damien has for what he does, even the actors are all invested and seem to really care about what they’re making (especially David as Art you can really see just how much he loves playing the character) Also Terrifier got me into Ice Nine Kills who are such a good band which is just another reason to love the series! Like I mentioned a little while ago my rating was 1, 3, 2, and AHE. It’s funny that I rated 1 above 2 for the exact same reason you rated 1 below 2 lol, I kind of liked that there wasn’t any story and it was just Art hacking up randos haha but yeah, AHE not great. The only short film I liked in AHE was the one actually titled “Terrifier”bthat focused solely on Art. (the alien part was so fucking stupid lmao) and yes the ending was actually fantastic and one of the creepiest scenes in the franchise. At least AHE managed to end on a good note lol It’s wild that anyone would compare your art to someone cause I don’t think I’ve seen anything close to your style anywhere else. As for people who don’t create not thinking about the time it takes to make things I try not to take it personally but it’s hard not to be mad when people say ignorant stuff about creating. I think I talked to you about it before, but that’s why I don’t like using the word “talented” to compliment artists. To me, it’s dismissive of the work you put into getting where you are. Like I know it’s meant as a compliment but if you really think about it, it’s insinuating that I didn’t put any effort into what I do. It’s like, no I worked and practiced to get to where I’m at, talent has nothing to do with it. It’s a learned skill that takes effort, I didn’t just wake up one day drawing the way I do. Non-creatives not understanding the time and effort it takes to make something is also why people asking for art for free actually kind of pisses me off. Like if I know you and we’ve already been talking for a while I don’t mind the asking really. But when a stranger asks if you’ll draw for them for free it’s extremely disrespectful. Like you’re asking me to put hours of my time and energy into something that I didn’t even want to make…for nothing? Like tell me you don’t give a shit about the time and effort that goes into drawing without telling me you don’t give a shit about the time and effort that goes into drawing. I mean it’s nice that people think your art’s cool enough to want you to draw for them at all, but seriously. Asking for free art like that is kind of insulting. If they’d just think about it for two seconds, they’d realize they’re basically telling me, “you’re good enough that I want your art but not good enough for me to pay you and I don’t give a shit that by drawing for me you’d be giving hours of your precious little free time to make what I want” I don’t think wanting discussion about other artists/ASMRtists in your spaces is a jealousy thing at all, it’s just respect. Like when you’re on a certain creator’s platform you should really just be there for that creator. Kind of a weird example but it gets the point across; you wouldn’t have dinner at a friend’s house and spend the whole time talking about how good your other friend’s cooking is. It’d be rude and disrespectful like, “damn if you like their food so much go eat at their place.” Same thing applies to creator’s spaces Oh god she’s becoming an astrology girl lmao, jokes aside I don’t judge. I actually do find astrology interesting and fun in like a personality test way even if it’s got no scientific backing. If my name doesn’t give it away I definitely don’t believe in anything supernatural, but I don’t judge anyone who does. I still cringe about my “angry atheist” phase where I’d argue with people online about religion all the time. Still hate that I was such an asshole then, and I’m very glad to have put that behind me. I’m much more live and let live about it now, and in a lot of ways I genuinely admire and envy those who’s beliefs give them a sense of purpose in life! The only beliefs I hate nowadays are the ones that hurt or oppress others and I’ll never support those As for my sign though, I’m a Pisces and basically every trait both positive and negative applies to me lol, for positive traits the creativity, adaptability, and strong intuition is extremely accurate. As for negative traits being escapist, indecisive, and being closed off initially in relationships are the big ones. Not gonna explain what led me to be closed off though, this is not the time or place to trauma dump haha Holy wow, that was some serious mucho texto, you gave me a lot to respond to in this ramble Ali! I know you said not to apologize for long comments but…no no, I’m resisting the urge! Thanks for the multiple interesting topics in the ramble, it was really fun to think about, especially the creative struggles!

Moy

To be honest, I've never really been too into horror. But I love hearing people talk about their interests and passions and I'm always willing to give anything a try. I think you've brought it up enough times now that I feel like I have to watch them :P Can't say I haven't grown interested though. It's a shame that some people will compare other creators basically to their face. It can be hurtful and disrespectful, regardless of intent. Now, I 100% agree with the vtuber rule and always follow it in other creators spaces. But I do make some comparisons in private, and I apologize for that. But I promise it's not malicious! Lol Part of it is my personality and the other part is honestly kinda your fault :P I prioritize what makes me happy. Right now, I support seven pages on Patreon, 3 of them being ASMR. I've dabbled with a few ASMR pages, but unfortunately I don't really stick around for long. Usually just a month or two and I almost never comment either lol I don't leave these pages because they're not good, all of them are incredibly talented creators. I leave because I don't feel connected. I want a deeper connection and a community, not a business transaction. And like I said, this is partially your fault! Lol You're the longest I have supported an artist and ASMRtist on Patreon (and I will gladly continue doing so) because to me, you've set the gold standard. I love your work, I think your community engagement is off the fucking charts, and I think you and the other AliCats are pretty darn cool too. I'll never name other creators here or go to other pages and publicly throw your name around. That's really fucking stupid, it would make me look like a jackass, and incredibly disrespecful for any creators involved. I respect anyone who can create something, I don't want to interfere and hurt someone's creative journey. Before I got into ASMR roleplays, I used to really like ASMR tarot card readings. Does that mean I believe in Astrology? No, definitely not :P Do the personality traits of Taurus line up with mine? God damn it, they do. That's why I liked the tarot card readings so much lol As much as things line up, i don't like signs dictating people's relationships. The heavens don't choose who I surround myself with, I do. Or maybe that's just me being a stubborn bull, who knows :p

I know exactly what you mean when you say you can tell if something was made with passion. Honestly, that's probably my favorite part of any product of creativity. What's the point if it's just soulless and manufactured? I think that's why I LOVE discussing peoples hobbies. Although, I've definitely struggled with the feeling that my own creations and pursuits are soulless. I worry I'm not as passionate as I once was...and I wonder if people can somehow subconsciously sense it. It's like what I was saying earlier about my song rec this week: "When you don't feel it, it shows. They tear out your soul." It's like I'm going to get exposed as a fraud one day in some "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" type scenario. Or maybe it's just imposter syndrome. Who's to say? I know you didn't mean it with this intent, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't slightly nervous when you mentioned the comparison thing. I was really hoping that I'd never said anything like that in the past. I think the whole topic is a slippery slope. People often either don't think to expand on their comparison or don't have the right words to do so. I'm sure some do mean it with flagrant disrespect and, honestly, those people can get fucked. However, I think many others do mean it in a complimentary way. Especially people who might not necessarily be creative types themselves. It's also a natural way that people discover things. It happens a lot with music, right? "If you like that band, you should check out this band too. They have a similar vibe." It's not really a slight to either artist in most cases. I always think that intent should count for at least half of communication. Anyway, my *intent* is not to lecture, lol. I just have a many thoughts on the topic because it's something I've considered a lot myself. My astrological sign is Libra. I do agree that there's some stuff in the description that matches my personality pretty well, but also other stuff that doesn't really apply at all, haha. I definitely don't feel like I'm aloof, but I guess that's not for me to decide. I find the topic itself interesting, but I don't know that I can put too much stock in its utility. Just to clarify, I don't mean that negatively. I think it's perfectly fine to be interested in something without it being some huge, life-changing core belief. Personally, I like ghosts and other paranormal topics. I'm a science person too, but I think it's boring to not even think about the gray areas. Like you mentioned, people should just be able to like what they like as long as it's not harmful or malicious. Actually, the only time I've ever had a problem with astrology is when people have used it to "explain" every single thing I do. I'm a person with free will, damn it! At least I hope I am. Maybe I should have been predestined to write shorter comments.

Aww, thanks Releo! It means a lot that you think so about my art and stories ♥️ Also that you made a Patreon too- that’s so awesome! I hope you’ve been enjoying your stay here, I know I enjoy your comments and company :D My experiences with being compared aren’t too common but they do happen sometimes. Usually I’m able to brush them off since it’s something that happens a lot in the art world, but every now and then it gets to be a little irritating. It’s a struggle that I think will always be there but we just have to learn to get past in a positive way. I know a lot you here create too (drawing, writing, etc.) so I like to talk about issues that others might have experienced and to know they aren’t alone in them ^_^ As for astrology, I don’t want to say I believe in it 100% but it’s definitely interesting to learn more about. At the very least I’ll have a new topic I can educate myself on and that’s always exciting to me!

>>157989222

I remember seeing a little bit about all that. I can’t say I actively watch either of them but I know they are different in their streams and content with clips and stuff I’ve seen. Either way, definitely not cool to bash anyone or go over into their spaces bringing up the other. I 100% agree with you in that if there’s something you don’t like just don’t engage with it. Unless that person brings it up first there’s really no need to bring up anyone!

>>158018846

I hope you enjoy Terrifier Strobi! Please just know that they are extremely graphic in the gore department. I like to make sure to tell people that in case it’s too much for them haha! But if you like the art aspect and that stuff doesn’t bother you, I hope you enjoy! :D I’ve never seen Santa Slay and I can’t say I’m too familiar with Aleister Crowley either; I’ll have to look them both up later! Crowley’s name does sound familiar though so I may have heard him in passing at some point. Your view on art is a fair one and I respect that! :)

alichuart
>>158025425

I had a feeling that was probably why you liked Terrifier 1 the most haha! That’s totally fair. I know a lot of people just like a good slasher, nothing wrong with that at all :P I’m definitely the type of person who needs a good story though! Hell even with “that stuff” I need to know why it’s going on lmao. Thank God I’m not the only person who thought the alien story in AHE was stupid as hell. I kept thinking, “Wth is he moving around all goofy like that? He should be ashamed” 😂 I 100% agree with you on the talented thing. I absolutely hate that word tbh. It really does undermine all the hard work that’s put into a craft. It’s like, “Yeah bro, I was able to come out of the womb drawing like this” lol. I know people mean it in good faith but it feels icky. That’s how the comparison thing feels to me. As someone that drew in what I call “old art internet” days, it was just different. Not to say that now is better but when people compared you it was definitely meant as an insult. Sometimes they were even accusing you of copying which was ridiculous 💀 I really do appreciate your comment about my art though Succotash, thank you! ♥️ I definitely don’t expect to be a unique snowflake but as I’m sure you know, it takes a long time to develop a style. So when people just blanket carpet that with, “You sound/look like so and so” and nothing else, it’s frustrating. Oh boy, the free art thing- I swear that will always be around in the art world! 😂 Believe me that it will never get less frustrating. It will forever and always piss you off lol. I will say it’s gotten much easier to deal with though. Sometimes it’s fun to be a smart ass when replying back but I pick and choose my battles :P And like I said before, no apologies! I like reading long comments from you all. You’re all very interesting and it’s fun to read your thoughts and reply to them ^_^ Lastly, don’t feel too bad about your “angry atheist” phase. I went through something similar myself growing up. Over time I also became a live and let live type of person and I think it makes for much better conversation and understanding of people!

I feel you Moy! I love hearing people talk about things they are interested in. I think it goes back to what I was saying about feeling the passion behind something. I love seeing people genuinely happy about things they like ^_^ Please be aware that Terrifier is extremely graphic. I just like to push that in case people aren’t into that kinda thing! But if you’re ok with that then have fun and I hope you enjoy! ♥️ Your comment really made me happy so thank you! It makes me feel very honored to know I can make you feel connected. I don’t like to get too personal with people but enough to where we can all talk and discuss things! So to know that I’ve made you feel that way really does make me happy 😊 I very much appreciate all of you and enjoy your thoughts on things! I also want to say that comparing is totally fine, especially if it’s private or between friends, etc. I think it’s common to say things like, “Oh, if you like them you may like so and so” Even with myself I think that’s A-ok! The comparing that gets to me is when it’s almost like the implication that it’s copying or that it’s uncreative. As if one person is less than or that they love the other so much they feel the need to be nasty to someone else. It’s just very immature and close minded; overall just annoying to deal with sometimes 💀 I also agree on the tarot cards. I don’t want to say I’ll believe/follow them 100% as I also like to be the master of my own destiny. If anything I think the whole concept is extremely fascinating and I’d love to broaden my knowledge on it! It’s funny you mentioned tarot and ASMR though. I’ve also been watching ASMR readings and I love it! :D

alichuart
>>158136713

Oh no, I’m so sorry if I made you feel nervous Noct! That definitely was not my intent at all and I really do apologize if I made you feel uneasy. I just want to clarify that everything I said wasn’t directed at anyone. It was more of a broad art/creator issue that I wanted to address. I know a lot of you like to make things too so I wanted to be open about an issue that I’ve experienced to give anyone else room to talk about it too. I was thinking before I replied to you though, and you do bring up a very good thought. Case in point being your music example. I’m 100% guilty of being that person that says, “If you like them you may like so and so too!” So perhaps I should have explained myself better- I do apologize for that! If someone were to say that with me for example, I definitely wouldn’t feel offended. I think it’s the context in which it’s being said. If there’s a discussion about how much you like something and someone else gets brought up as a recommendation, I think that’s awesome. If someone just comes up into someone’s space though and says, “You sound/look like so and so” with no other context or nothing positive to say, they come off very dickish. I’ve gotten comments like this and out of any other comments they annoy me the most, admittedly. I’d rather someone just say I suck haha! 🤣 As for the passion thing, don’t be too hard on yourself! I think it’s normal to go through times that make you feel more passionate than other days. For me I will admit there’s some characters I’m just more into than others. It doesn’t mean I don’t like all of them but some you’ll just have more fun with and I think that’s ok. So long as you are enjoying yourself and the creative process that’s really all that matters in my opinion! Lastly, (and I’m sorry this got to be so long haha!) I definitely don’t believe in astrology/tarot 100%. Like I mentioned to someone else, I like to be the master of my own destiny. I also like to come to my own understanding of things. It is very fun though. Even if just to broaden my horizons on the subject! :D

For real, man was swaying around like he was 12 drinks deep. Plus Art literally wasn’t even IN the alien short! They literally just put him in as a painting to have any semblance of cohesion and it made me feel so robbed lmao Yeah when it comes to “that stuff” a good story definitely elevates it. Although if the story is TOO good I stop caring about the lewdness as much and start caring about the story more haha (Metamorphosis is a perfect example) I think that’s part of why ero-roleplay audios really hit different. Even though typically there’s nothing more than a thumbnail, having a voice acted story is oddly more effective than a video or comic/manga. My guess as to why that would be is that your mind fills in the gaps in a much more exciting way than just showing an image or video. It’s why I maintain that in spicy art, convenient censorship/spicy outfits are often hotter than straight up nudity, same principle of leaving things to the imagination. The mind is a powerful tool, especially in art!

Moy
>>158056076

Something being graphic doesn't bother me. Typically I prefer it having some story behind it though lol I'll be sure to watch around Christmas, I have a good amount off so I'll watch a good amount of movies haha Honestly, I was a little worried about wording all that wrong and accidentally pissing you off lol But I'm always willing to take a risk :P And well, knowing it had the opposite effect is pretty nice. You put in a lot of your time into your art, it's something that used to be your livelihood. I think that it's more than understandable that you get upset when someone implies it's copying and what not. Unfortunately, people's ignorance can only be overcome through time and life's trials. I know this won't completely fix things, if at all, but next time something like that happens, come back to the comments people left you here. There are people who love your work and creatives who understand you. I hope that will help put your mind at ease in the future.

Noct
>>158136713

No, don't apologize! I'm just that person. I'm often concerned I'll misword something and inadvertently upset someone. Not really a practical thing, I guess. It's not like it's totally avoidable. I hate it when it happens though. I'm glad you brought it up. I think it's important to be able to discuss topics like that, even if it's just for the purpose of getting it off your chest. I don't have a community like this of my own, of course, but I'd imagine it would be really frustrating if you felt you couldn't be honest with them. I think that's part of the issue. Sometimes I don't know if I enjoy the creative process or if I'm just going through the motions and suffering, lol. I think I'm a little bit too perfectionistic when it comes to the product. It's surprisingly stressful. You probably know the feeling I'm talking about. I've often told people that my real hobby is actually acquiring new hobbies, so I understand :P Idk if I'm just weird, but I love the onslaught of new info when I first pick something up.

Emeraldrop

Thank you for the ramble Alichu, when it comes to comparisons artistically, I actually don't really mind it myself, though I haven't had comments like that so idk. Could be curious, could not be.

alichuart
>>158294816

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Emerald! I think it’s a topic that’s different for everyone. I’m sure some people don’t mind it while others do. I don’t mind being compared but it’s the context around it. If it’s done in a positive/constructive way I’m all for it. But if it’s done as a means of belittling or implying that it’s copying I think it’s very closed minded and rude.

alichuart
>>158136713

I definitely understand the perfectionist issue. I’ve mentioned it a little before, but I’ve dealt with OCD since I was a kid and it definitely makes that trait tough to deal with. When I was little I guess I’d refuse to erase and get really pissed when I’d make a mistake; Thank God I don’t do that now lol. It’s tough but I think if you’re trying your best and enjoying yourself that’s definitely good enough! Also, the acquiring new hobbies is definitely not weird! If anything it shows that you like to learn new things which I think is a good quality to have :D

alichuart
>>158056076

No, no; none of you ever piss me off haha! There’s really only been one of two people on Patreon specifically that tried to and I think they only joined to say something mean and leave. Which is fine because they gave me money to do so lol :P It takes a lot to really irritate me nowadays. I’ll be honest though, it took a lot of hard work to be that way. As a kid/teen I was very angry so when I became an adult I did some work to calm my ass down lmao 😂 I really do appreciate your comment though Moy. And I will definitely be sure to come back here if I ever need some encouragement! ❤️

alichuart
>>158025425

This guy gets it! :P lol. The mind is definitely a powerful tool when it comes to filling in the gaps for real. And not just with drawing but any medium like you said. I think that’s why I personally enjoy sketching so much. A lot of times, especially when I draw “that” I leave it sketchy. It just comes off different and fills in those blanks for me.

Miracle

Me personally, I wouldn't be offended if someone said "your art reminds me of x". I see it as the commenter wanting to shout out another artist. I encourage it. Comments are good for the algorithm. And if people end up finding another artist they love due to that shutout, even better. "If I wanted to see them or I wanted to find them, I would go find them." You said that 9 times out of 10 you don't know who the commenter is talking about. How could you go find them without them being brought to your attention? Even the ones you do know about may not necessarily be known to the other people reading the comment. "I don't like when things influence me without my choosing." I'm confused. Surely you're not implying that anyone is forcing you to look into the artists shouted out in the comments, right? I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, I'm genuinely confused. Somebody get me a persim berry over here. Some people are going to have bad intentions, but I like to give them the benefit of the doubt when there's no context. If I got mad over something like that, then imagine how mad I would have to be at myself for all the times I didn't give enough context. The trope in cinema is that you can't get revenge on someone or you'll be just as bad as they are, but in reality, it's never the ones who think them themselves superior who hesitate to take revenge.

alichuart
>>159018336

Thanks for your comment Miracle! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this as I love talking about topics with you all :D I respect your opinion and can see where you’re coming from. I think art is a subject that everyone goes about differently. For me, it’s more than just the comments and the algorithm. I want to share something that I put a lot of time into. Of course shouting out and helping people find other artists is nice, but it should be done so respectfully, similar to the vtuber mentality of not discussing other streamers unless they are brought up first. Everyone deserves their own space. Coming into that space without any prior statement and just saying, “You look/sound like so and so” comes off a bit rude and to some discouraging. Of course this is just my opinion though. Like I said, everyone is different and that’s ok! I come from a place of someone that used to do commission work for a living. I try to give people benefit of the doubt more times than not, but from my experience when someone said that in the art world it was usually never done so with good intentions. As for the influence statement, I find it an interesting thing. Of course no one is forcing me to look at anything nor do I have a say 100% of the time in what I see. But at the end of the day I am human and things can make me subconsciously act or think things, which admittedly I don’t like. If someone kept telling someone “you draw like so and so” then they could find themselves doing it more or less as they drew. Not to say everyone is like that but human brains are a funny thing :P I hope this cleared up any misunderstanding I may have caused. Thanks again for your thoughts! I love reading other opinions and appreciate you taking the time to listen ^_^

Miracle
>>159018336

Speaking of the vtuber mentality, I never understood the reasoning behind it. If I were a vtuber, I wouldn't be disrespected by others taking the initiative to talk about another vtuber in my stream. I've watched a wide variety of content creators, yet the only ones I've seen who have a no shoutout rule are vtubers. I'm sure there are non-vtubers who have that rule too, but they are definitely less common. I wonder why that is. As for subconscious influences, I can't say they bother me either. At least, not to any noteworthy extent. Some have had a negative impact on me, and others, a positive one. But ultimately, such influences are insignificant compared to my conscious self. The worst my subconscious does is give me nightmares. I can have reoccurring dreams of being assaulted and then I can go on with the rest of my day as if nothing happened. Now that's funny.
