Hello ali cats! Sorry this ramble got out a bit late, but I hope you enjoy hanging out for bit while I chat :3

I'm excited to announce that I finally got myself a PO Box- yay! ✨ I've wanted one for a while so I'm happy that I was finally able to get myself one. I mainly wanted one for possible Patreon/future merch ideas, so I'm really happy to have the option available as things move forward.

I'm still not sure how I feel about Throne. You all being here is enough, so if I do it will only be for things that I can make content with, ok? :P

I really wanted to express my excitement and thanks though. Without you all this wouldn't even be possible, so I appreciate you all very much! Please be patient with me while I continue to set things up for a third tier. Once I'm comfortable and have everything I'll be sure to make a post when it's available. And of course if you have any ideas feel free to let me know! :D

Quite the ramble to start catching up on your Patreon, lots of exciting news! Third tier, PO Box, lot of developments coming (I’m absolutely gonna be getting on that third tier btw lol) I feel you on the last bit about art and feeling like you have to follow certain “rules” for it. I get caught up in that myself sometimes, especially if I start playing the comparison game. Yes, there are fundamentals that I believe are important to at least be familiar with if you want to improve in a technical sense, and there are tried and true techniques that will definitely help you grow as an artist too. However, I think it’s really easy to get caught up in the “rules” of art that you lose sight of why you make art in the first place. Like you said, it should always come from a place of enjoyment first and foremost, having fun and enjoying the process of creating should always matter more than just ticking boxes when drawing. After all, different art methods and styles arise from deviating from those art “rules” to make something new! TL;DR Don’t get so caught up in the “how” of what you’re making that you forget about the “why”

YouTube algorithm: *Looks at the thumbnail of the vampire video.* Oh my gawd! A girl blushing with heart eyes!? Must be lewd. *Looks at the first 4 words of the video and stops* Yep it is inappropriate. Striked!

That’s such a cool idea for 3rd tier I’m sure having a PO Box will come in handy. I’d like to join the third tier when it becomes available but honestly don’t think I’ll be able to atleast not for a while financially I’m doing alright but also I’m not comfortable with staying where I’m at right now partly because of just a lot of one off expenses but I still live with my family and they aren’t exactly as open minded as I am towards art and asmr and stuff but I’m trying to get things in order to live on my own getting a better job getting my things in order saving up a good chunk of money. But once I’m in a good place I’d definitely like to join the 3rd tier if a slot is open. YouTube is extremely inconsistent on their rulings and it definitely sucks but they are a buisness and all they really care about if making money at thee end of the day sadly. I respect your decision on memberships and hearing your reasoning behind it I tend to think your reasoning is quite sound and i think you made the right decision. Im glad to hear you feel more free with your artwork recently your art style as whole is so unique and you even with any you changes you make it’s still you and I tend to enjoy all thee art you make regardless and while I know I don’t speak for everyone if your happy with how your art came out I’m happy too how I feel about art is that whoever is making it should enjoy it and be proud of what they have made and no reviewer or critic opinions should limit your creativity cause let’s face it everyone won’t enjoy everything and that’s perfectly fine we all have different tastes. so hearing you don’t feel limited to a strict system is awesome. I’m not gonna act like I know every little thing about line work and all that goes into drawing I see cute anime monster girls me happy but I try to notice changes both because you honestly help me out more then you know without you helping me get sleep and chill I’d be a mess running on little to no sleep and stressed out all the time. But additionally because I’ve always been interested in art and while I haven’t really done much drawing recently I still like to try and notice any changes in the art I see from you and any other artist I come across i just find it all interesting I’d like to draw again and any little things I can pickup from seeing your art I’d like to learn. I used to draw a lot when I was younger I’m just so busy these days and when I do have spare time I tend to play video games or catch up on anime but seeing you change things up and try new things really makes me wanna try to draw again I tend to just have these ideas of things I think would be cool maybe I could try to bring some of them to life in my own style. I totally know where your coming from before I make any important decisions I do a ton of research and make sure everything is in order I’m in the middle of a lot of important decisions right now myself it can definitely get you stressed out and feel overworked Whitch I’ve been feeling like that recently working so many extra hours preparing constantly checking for notifications on my job applications and applying for new positions ans trying to maintain a diet and go to the gym regularly I tend to find myself so tired recently and so sometimes when I have free time I just lay down and pass out Whitch then makes me feel like I wasted time and makes me more stressed out it’s a viscous cycle but I’m always happy to listen to your rambles calms me down and I can still do stuff while I’m listening overall I just tend to feel better after listening just a bit less heavy. Well that was certainly a wall of text also I’m sorry if overshare or just leave really long comments sometimes I just get very little social interaction especially now that my only friend moved away so I like to talk about things and this is just thee only place I really feel comfortable talking about a lot of it I really appreciate your content and just you as awesome of a person as you are so thanks again for giving me a Comfy place to be myself and letting me have an outlet all the things I don’t have anyone to talk to about.

Congrats on the [decision to prepare for the] creation of a new tier! The idea for a postcard with something inside is a supercute and fun idea, I'm smiling at the thought of it. Understandable on the YouTube membership decision, too. YT's policies and whatnot aside, the extra Patreon tier still does the same job while giving you more control over how you engage with your following and how we experience the benefits. Youtube's system being so automated, impersonal, and black-and-white is such a shitty situation, I wish there were some way for smaller creators to have more of a foothold when trying to deal with it. The current way it delivers strikes and auto-takedowns sucks so much until you become a supergiant, and I can't think of any incentive that YT would have to change it. It's just frustrating :( But all that aside, it makes me so happy to hear all those thoughts on your art and growth and all. "Art is whatever the fuck you want... you don't want to impress anyone but you" Those are words of wisdom that many people could grow so much from living by, but go their whole lives without understanding. I've been a big fan of the Ali style I've gotten used to over the last half year, but I'm just as excited to see what parts change and stay the same as it evolves! Oh and congrats on the PO box, I almost forgot to say that! I hope everyone is on their best manners with sending stuff—most common no-nos are obvious, but let us know if there's anything especially that you want us to avoid.

I don't mind how late this ramble, because I'm still up and listening to it at 4 Am. I thought I notice your art was a bit different, mostly with the vampire one, I couldn't tell if I was just too sleepy, or if it was a difference of art style. But I like how it is, I think it gives it a nice touch to your art. I have a couple questions, one about the third tier, and a random one I always I had in the back of my mind. With the postcard you sending out, I think I heard right but it's going to be physical, but I was wondering how you would send that out to the right people, I'm mostly worried about doxxing myself on here, and how exactly am I post to give you my address to send the post card, because I'll be one of the first one to be on the new tier. I don't fully know, so some explanation would help my nerves. And my second question is about the name of us, the viewers. You keep calling us "Ali Cats", which is nice, but I wonder what exactly it's posted to mean. Because when I hear it, I get two things in my mind, the name sounds like Alleyway Cats, like we're strays being picked up by you. Or post to sound like Ali's Cats, which would be funny. Because technically the "S" means ownership of something or someone, and that would mean we pay you to be owned.

Shadowkitty

Just in time for a 3AM gym session lmao. Sounds to me like you've made some good choices. :3 Of course most Alicats always encourage you to do whatever works for you regardless, but I do legitimately think you've got the right of things on this. Working in the spaces where I do- where people's lives and safety often rest on the shoulders of my competence- I too am the sort of person who very much feels like I have to know everything and be extremely grounded before I undertake a task or venture. Sometimes I have to try and tell myself it can be too much and that it can be okay to just try things and enjoy them without being 'perfect', but it's hard! >.< Definitely a mental block sort of thing. Idk. I'm sure a psych boii would have a field day with that, tell me it's something or other to do with childhood trauma or what have you. xD ...Regardless! What this Shadowcat is hearing is; Time to gang together with the Alicats and send Ali a gaming PC. >:3c

That's great to hear you got a PO box set up for yourself, and best of luck in setting up that new tier for your Patreon. It is unfortunate how unfairly stringent YouTube can be in terms of punishing smaller creators, so understandable that you don't feel like setting up memberships there rn. I had considered something like a Throne myself, but feel kinda weird about asking gifts of folks who aren't my family (or at least trying to avoid being so shameless about that :P). That's pretty nice enough of you to consider the limitation being stuff that contributes towards your content creation work. The good thing about art is that beyond learning fundamentals, everything else is basically experimentation and finding mediums, styles, techniques, and tools that work best for you. Even if you enjoyed one way of doing things for a while, if it no longer interests you or serves your purposes you can just change things and experiment some more.

A PO box sounds like an awesome step forward! :3 And since it fits your last ramble - would you be open to receiving snacks? x3 Only if you're comfortable with it, of course! But I think it could be a fun addition if you ever feel like doing more snacky rambles from time to time, trying snacks from different countries. ^^ The idea of a third Patreon tier sounds really exciting too! Would it be US-only, though? I imagine international postage could get pretty wild, depending on where you're sending to. Also, nothing wrong at all with taking your time setting things up. It's so much easier to move forward slowly and confidently than to rush and then have to backtrack later. Definitely better to wait until you're fully comfortable and things feel right. As for the Youtube membership thing - I kinda saw that coming after Youtube did its usual nonsense with your vampire video. Totally understandable though. With how unpredictable Youtube can be, it makes sense not to rely too heavily on it. And like you said, this whole ASMR space - whether it's content, the community, or all the behind-the-scenes stuff - should still feel fun and fulfilling for you first and foremost. If it starts to feel more like a constant uphill battle, it's not worth the stress. At this point, setting up Youtube memberships would probably just be a headache, considering how flaky Youtube has been lately. xD

You know, I think I've gotten used to seeing either a really late Ali post, or a super early one like at 5am my time lol The Tier 3 for Patreon sounds awesome. I think I initially joined at tier 1 since the benefits were the same, but seeing how often you upload and engage with your patrons made upgrading to tier 2 a no-brainer. I'm pretty sure the same thing will happen once tier 3 officially launches. You clearly care about your community and want them to feel like their money is being well spent, I fucking respect that soooo much lol There's been communities online where I've felt like the creator just didn't care, so this is really nice. So far through, Tier 3 sounds pretty cute lol But it also sounds like a lot of work, so I can understand having a limit to how many members there can be. Make the envelope you send it in super boring, I don't want anyone snooping through my mail :P Make it look like a bill lmao The P.O. box is pretty cool! So theoretically, if I wanted to send something one day, I would send it to the PO box right? Or would it be through Throne? I usually have mixed thoughts on Throne, it really depends on what's listed. I actually really like your approach to it. If it's for things that benefit the Patreon and/or YouTube channel, then hell yeah! When it comes to Throne and supporting creators in general, I try to be as "selfish" as possible, which might sound odd lol But if I'm going to support someone, I want to know how I might benefit too. For instance, some VTuber I follow has groceries on Throne – I'm not contributing to that. But a different creator had a Switch 2 fund on Ko-fi, and since I'm a channel member and enjoy watching her play games, it made sense to contribute a little. Basically, my policy is to be a fan, not a simp! :P I think you made the right choice for YouTube memberships. However, I do firmly believe that you will eventually get to the point where you open up memberships, and I'm looking forward to it. Maybe one of the first thing that can be put on throne is a new PC? I already said it, but it's worth repeating. The amount of thought you put into all of this shows how much you care. So thank you, Ali.

Red XXX00

Awesome! Idea didn't think about PO box be a thing. Definitely the best approach for content creators. Yea YouTube is really hit or miss and you think would be a stable platform for how long it been around with Google money. Its why it's a good thing to be on multiple platforms.

Delta

The PO box sounds like a great idea! Also the 3rd tier sounds adorable! Sign me up!! Let's just hope it goes to the right mailbox :P how many slots do you think you'll have btw? As for the youtube memberships, I was figuring that'd be the case after youtube did its thing... And I've been really liking all of your little tweaks and changes to your art while you're trying out new styles and seeing your art overall improve over the years ^_^

LBug0

Regarding the birthday wish you gave me, it didn't work. Today has been terrible. I've had horrible stomach issues for hours now. Thank you for trying.

LBug0

At least I can watch the new FNAF in DBD footage while I'm in pain.

n0ct

Wow, you've got a lot of stuff in the works! I had no idea. I'm glad you're exploring so many new avenues though. As a patron, I'd obviously jump at the opportunity to support further. Although, it already seems like you work really hard for everyone. I think it's a good idea to take things slow like you mentioned. Burnout is real and it can be pretty insidious as well. More than anything, I hope you continue to focus on just having fun and doing the things you want to do!

alichuart

I’m glad to hear you like the idea Noct! :D I 100% agree on taking things slow. I know some people may find that tedious, but I’m always going to do what I think is most feasible for me and what I can handle. The last thing I want is for anything to be overwhelming or stressful. I always want to have fun and hope that it comes off that way to everyone else too! ^_^
