Apologies if I sounded a bit tired or different than usual. As I mentioned in the audio, I recorded this shortly after my next Ash roleplay for YouTube so I think my voice was still in her tempo a bit haha! xD

I love talking about topics discussed in this ramble, and while this is probably obvious to smart ali cats such as yourself, please be respectful if others have different opinions. Not to say that's happened, but I want to keep my patreon a chill, relaxing place where people can express themselves- so long as they are respectful and open to other views :) ā¤ļø

I’m glad you have recovered back to back super long shifts will absolutely drain you. I added the bear to my to watch list I watched some of the teasers for it looks really good definitely gonna watch it. The made sacrifices for success can take a toll on some one psyche I have goals and things I want to accomplish but I also know the commitment is going to be intense to do some of the things I want to achieve but I think I need to atleast try though because as much i might regret some of the sacrifices i will have to make i think in the long term I think id regret never trying even more in the coming months especially ive am not going to have much free time i feel like i really need to make some real progress in my life and im tired of my current situation and i wanna make things change and ive been trying to do so recently working as many hours as i can but it just never feels like enough and and even still i missed out on family birthday celebrations yesterday because of work i had alot of things come up the last couple of months that feel like they derailed alot of my plans now i just feel like im trying to play catch up. No you are 100% right there are so many anime’s that come out now that the anime art style all look the same it’s kinda hard for me to watch those kinda anime’s if the story isn’t really really good. Gachiakuta is looking pretty good though. I’ll check out takopis original sin to my watch list I’m always on the hunt for good new anime to watch with nice art style when I have spare time and I’m a sucker for anything with nice art and horror of any sort. It’s definitely a odd choice to talk bad about some one else in another creator comment section is just rude and disrespectful to both creators almost like they expect the one who’s comments they are in to snicker along with them. As a retail worker myself i understand what you mean people can be so rude or even downright nasty for seemingly no reason and when I first started it got to me a little but now it’s just like whatever but when some of my coworkers like to gossip about another coworkers and customers and I’m not very social but I’m trying to be better about that but if they start shit talking about other coworkers or customers I just walk away it gets on my nerves especially since we have alot of elderly and disabled customers where I work and I do my best to accommodate and help them after I’m done sometimes they start talking bad about them or making it out like they are inconvenients and I just don’t want any part in that sort of conversation. Well hope you have a nice and relaxing weekend Ali and if your working this weekend I hope all goes smooth and chill thanks for the ramble I may have vented a little bit in this comment but some of these topics really hit me right now I’m happy to listen though especially today is my only day off this week and even still I got alot of chores to get done. Oh on an unrelated note is it just me or has thee allergens been like really bad and this year I’m like perpetually stuffy nosed or sneezing constantly 😭

I completely echo your sentiments about people writing into anyone's comments to complain distaste for another utterly unaffiliated person, and that it is especially cowardly to phrase that as praise for someone not doing what they don't like. If someone's doing something you're not into, and you're already not engaging with what they do by engaging with someone else that does something you do like, then that's it. You've already accomplished your goals. You've found someone who makes something you like. You have no need to have someone who isn't for you occupying your headspace, especially while enjoying the work of someone you do like, and you Especially don't have any need to occupy the headspace of the person making something you do like with your unnecessary thoughts about someone else entirely. That's just a waste of your time, and more importantly a waste of someone else's time, and, hell, even a waste of time for anyone who happens to glance at your comment. Moving on to more a pleasant topic, though, it's always amazing to hear about an artist - in visual, audible, written, or any kind of media - getting to make what they want, instead of having to make what other people want for reasons of necessity or to establish themselves. The world is not so kind, so obviously there are far more artists who aren't in a position to choose to make what they want. Which makes encountering an artist who is living that choice all the more remarkable Even if a person could live forever, that person living at a singular moment of time at a time could never consume even the vaguest percentage of what everyone else who lives at the same time they do can make. So at the very least it is my hope to get to experience more things made by artists who want to make what they do than not

Rule 1 for a lot of creator spaces is to not bring up other people unless the creator brings them up first. It is just far too easy to compare and diminish, which is rude to both people being compared.

I’m certainly glad I took the time to listen to this ramble. Was too busy last night, but still happy I was able to get to it this morning! I felt that when you talked about getting burnt out on full time art and all the sacrifices that come with that. My sister actually had a similar experience and I felt so bad for her. Thankfully she’s doing work that she enjoys more now, and she’s able to do art for herself again, rather than trying to please a clientele, but it was rough well it lasted. I also appreciate you speaking out against shit-talking other creators. That’s something I’ve always felt pretty strongly about, even from a young age. Like, it bothers me when I hear somebody call a game or a movie ā€˜trash,’ for example, because chances are, somebody still had to work really hard to make it. Your stance on that is also another reminder, for me of what an incredibly nice person you are, and it makes me even more happy and proud to support you. 🄰 (Btw, I finished the asmr audio I’ve been working on just last night. Would you still like to hear it, and if so, how would you like me to send it to you? It’s an extremely goofy, comedy roleplay, so hopefully it’s still something you’ll find enjoyable. Oh, and if there’s any concerns with me mentioning my own asmr in the comments of your videos, I can stop if you’d prefer. I don’t know if there’s like a ā€œno self promotingā€ rule here that I should be aware of. I don’t mean it as self promotion. I genuinely just enjoy sharing my progress with you, but I totally understand if there’s any concerns about that.) Thanks in advance for reading this incredibly long comment! ā¤ļø

Are you using an inkjet printer to print your labels? It's much better to use a thermal printer if you aren't already. It will saved you the time of having to tape labels. I also want to point out that last I checked, there are still potentially gift memberships available. I ended up double dipping and renewed my membership a few days ago. You might want to make another post so that the rest get redeemed. But I can't see how many are left, so idk.

Ya know, I've seen clips for The Bear, and and I honestly thought tuner were clips of Shameless haha but it's now on my list to watch! But yea, definitely understand the feeling of not wanting to make my hobby a job, I wanted to be a content creator for overlanding stuff, but realized that if I did that, I'd lose all joy in going out there and going offroading and camping and what not. As for the anime, I've been seeing a lot of things about Takopi's Original Sin, but I've been avoiding watching it because I know something bad happens to the dog in it, and even animated that's not something I can really watch.. BUUT it looks like they're MAY be another cooking anime btw! "Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant" I've only seen the first episode so far, and there wasn't much in the way of cooking, but we'll see! And yea, that's usually one of the main rules I see in a lot of places to not bring up other creators, and doing a backhanded insult? Nah, that's no bueno.

It's always interesting hearing you talk about Ali lore, the creative process and your past. I'm glad you're making what you like and treat it as a hobby. I can imagine having to do something you don't want to would take away some of the love for it. I had been wanting to watch Takopi's original sin, but stupid Twitter spoiled something for me. Specifically about the dog and that made me pretty sad lol As a dog owner it makes me not want to watch it. But I'll put on my big boy pants and just watch it. Even if something makes me uncomfortable, I try not to let it get in the way of experiencing a good story. No worries Ali, if I ever have any criticism I'll say them to you directly :P Lol. You sounded a bit serious so I hope that made you laugh and not pissed you off more. But comparing creators is taboo. I like the example you did last time this topic came up with, the whole never bring up another vtuber in someone's stream. Comparisons in most aspects of life are pretty damn rude in general. Speaking of content creators lol I think I want to setup like a burner/alt account on Twitter to follow content creators I like. I don't feel comfortable doing it with my regular account because there's a good amount of people that follow me that I interact with pretty often IRL and most of them just wouldn't get what it means to follow my oshi :P

Your older YouTube vids are what got me to tune into this Patreon, you’re major league underrated dude. Also, you didn’t talk about this but, I like it when you do fit checks it’s nice to see the person behind this art! Takopi’s orginal sin made me cry when the brothers start hugging, very sad and relatable stuff (not the whole murder weapon thing lol).

Welcome back from the land of the Double Shifts and the tiredness it brings! Hope you're feeling better. Good on you for helping a friend, but also the human body was not made to do that kinda stuff. Praying that your friend really appreciates it, cause they oughta recognize that this has to be a one-time thing (except for emergencies)! ------ Thanks for asking after us all. I'm doing well, I mentioned my back injury a while ago but I'm happy that it's not just feeling better but completely back at 100%! Two and a half months is a long time to recover, but I'm better than ever. Literally, I just cleared a new song in DDR that I've never done before šŸŽ‰ I've also finished all assignments for my TEFL Certification!! Give it a few days for the graders to get back to me on those assignments, hopefully with all passes, and I'll be completely certified to Teach English as a Foreign Language. And then, the hard part really begins, but I feel ready for it! -------- I didn't end up watching the Bear after that other Ramble, sorry! >_< But I do understand that feeling of giving things up to push forward on one thing you care about—both what you hope to get out of it, and what you give up in the process. . It's maybe a bit different from true artistic creation the way I've experienced it and seen it, but I understand the feeling. I've seen a lot of people around me in the last few years decide to give up on things they liked to escape the grind and to get a sense of stability. They don't regret it for themselves, and I can't knock them for looking out for Number One, but I see the difference in how they carry themselves, and it's made me a lot more sensitive to that sort of decision making both irl and in media. It sounds like this is similar, and I'm glad that you got to see impactful moments like that in a show you already liked beforehand ------ > Takopi's Original Sin > "This show is amazing!" > checks genre > dystopian horror > Yeah that tracks for Ali :P Guess it's time for me to go watch an episode or two, then. Psychological stuff is rarely the first genre I reach for, but it's rarely off the table. If this one comes with the Ali seal of approval, I might as well <.< Totally agree on unique artstyles being able to elevate a work, too! When people ask me what my favorite anime is, depending on my weather my answer might change, but it's pretty consistently Katanagatari or Tatami Galaxy, specifically because of their unique art styles. Anime like that, with a lot of plot movement and character moments born from dialogue/exposition are always my favorites, but the unique art is *the* reason why I elevate those two over top of Monogatari a lot of the time. ------ It sucks that people don't always realize that putting someone else down isn't actually the praise they think it is. I'm sorry that you still have to put up with that sometimes. I have faith that those types of people are more unaware than they are malicious, but intent aside, at the end of the day, artists like you are the ones who have to deal with it, and constant comparisons to others—even if they're technically favorable, or especially if they're negative towards others—makes it seem like your work doesn't stand on its own, when it absolutely does. Hope that listening to these rambles are helping them understand that, and that they can grow a bit with how they engage healthily with media and creators that they like. -------- Ending on a positive note with you—How does the lotion get on your mic like that??? Is it just part of the recording process when you do slimy sounds? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing Ash again and meeting her friend! I bet they're friendly and totally not a reason why your mic is going to get lotioned-up again in the near future :P

Thank you for the ramble Alichu! Hopefully people stop making backhanded comments

Kraiden

Glad to hear you're feeling better - all those stacked shifts must've been super draining. D: Totally agree that backhanded compliments or subtle jabs can really ruin the mood, even if they're dressed up as praise. There's never a need to lift one thing up by putting another down. On that note: sometimes I mention things like "Hey, this reminds me of anime/manga X!" when talking about your art. I always mean it in a positive way - like, "I love that kind of vibe!" and it's easier to refer / compare to - but just in case, I hope that doesn't come across the wrong way. Totally understand if you'd prefer it toned down, though!

alichuart

No, no Kraiden- that’s totally fine and I do the same thing, so don’t worry! :D Those types of comments never bother me. If anything I take it as a compliment that my work can remind someone of an anime or manga ✨ The big things that I don’t like are the putting down/negative comparison thing. It’s completely uncalled for and just comes off really mean and rude. But I know Ali cats would never do that :3 ā¤ļø

Slappy Bird

Even if I didn't turned my hobby into a job. I feel you about telling people not to do that. I didn't turn my hobby (drawing) into a job, but I roughly feel the stress of it for a different reasons. That being I was very obsessed with trying to make it look professional quality because I thought that what would give me attention that I almost lost sight of what really matters to me, which is having fun. I tried so hard to make a professional quality art, that I ended up not making any at all

alichuart

Hello Slappy Bird and welcome to my Patreon! I hope you enjoy your stay here :D Thanks for commenting on this ramble too, I always like hearing other people’s experiences. I can relate to you on the feeling of wanting things to look ā€œperfectā€ or a certain way. It’s extremely easy to get caught up in that and lose sight of having fun. I hope that whatever choices you made were ultimately good for you and that you’re doing better now! ā¤ļø
