I'll never get people getting upset over a story not going well for the listener..like it a yandere roleplay you typically don't survive them and killed by thighs is pretty creative. I firmly agree with doing things how you want to do then and not catering to people who wouldn't like your work anyway, better to make something you can be proud of. Still struggling personally with writing as after all the time I've had with my story I don't even know if it'll be worth it in the end but I still would like to. All that said I love the venting rambles ali as sometimes you just gotta say what needs to be said and lay it all out.

Alichu ramble/rant. Let’s do this 😎 Consistency is key to enjoying things. I’m not an artist, but I do like to write atleast 500 words a day, it’s simple, effect, and only takes an hour. 🔑 Comparison is the thief of joy. That was said by President Theodore Roosevelt, and I believe that’s very true. Don’t compare yourselves to others, you’re you, and they are them. Do your own thing, and enjoy your own unique self, cuz you can’t steal from the other person, you can at best, learn from them. So basically, chill out home-slime, your gonna be alright. 🧊 Never fall for peer pressure! We’re grown ups now, you’re too old to be folding to the demands of other people. Don’t complain about dying in a horror asmr made by a horror asmr artist. Either watch the cat lady or don’t, but you’ll be missing a lot if you don’t. Take this from someone who didn’t like horror asmr before Alichu. 👻 (But I should mention that there’s a difference between complaining about Ali not doing what you want, and jokingly lamenting about dying in her audios) I won’t lie an say that I prefer sad or dark ending over happy ones. (Im a softie who loves happiness, sue me lol) but to me as long as the death has meaning, or the horror or sad ending have meanings, it’s alright with me. 😅 One day, you will leave this channel behind to persue bigger and better things, and most of us probably won’t recognize you, especially if you goes into voice acting. Whatever happens in the future, all I hope is for the best for Alichu and all Alicats 🐈 Girlfriend experience vtubers and asmr artists annoy me, because they treat their audience like their boyfriend, and then act all shocked pikachu face when the chat starts telling not to do stuff that makes them uncomfortable like a boyfriend would. Like no shit Sherlock. Encourages parasocial relationship, and then complains when their fans act parasocial. Although, I’m curious. Would you consider asmr role play as the listener’s girlfriend as GFE? Personally, I don’t, but I’m curious on how you feel about it. If you have commissions, finish them. Lock in little bro, you forfeited the right to take your time and finishing it on your time, when you accepted their money. 💴 Either way! Love this Ali ramble, maybe I’m weird, but I love when people just complain about stuff. Maybe I just like drama lmao. Either way, it’s good to be transparent with the fans, it weeds of parasocialism. Sorry for the long ass text. I like talking. Also One Piece’s art style is peak. Especially the early seasons.

Just do it is definitely some good advice there I used to make a lot of excuses but when I just started doing it I’m like why was I putting this off. My consistency is definitely a bit all over the place when it comes to art I think I should try to draw and post atleast one thing every week on the same day from now on I think I just get intimidated when I have an idea then I don’t even try because I feel like it’s so outside my current ability. Honestly the one piece art style isn’t my favorite but I can see thee appeal I still respect it but I feel like one piece story narrative and detail to the world make up for that for me for me whenever I encounter a new story or what not I got into it with one of two mindsets either somewhat mindless enjoyment just for fun usually for a just a bit or I want something genuinely interesting and seeing all the little things in a world line up get explained and make sense often matters to me more then some of the big action scenes I want the world to make sense I’m not asking for realism I just want the world to fit together within its own rules breaking those rules can work sometimes but I think thee only time maybe listening to your audience is a good thing can be when the author is if maybe some things from prior in the story are being contradicted and I’m not saying the author should change their story but maybe atleast consider explaining the new reason why this rule has been changed or why this works differently now then it did then for consistency sake because sometimes author do just make mistakes and write themselves into contradictions that can make the overall story worse and probably wasn’t their vision but to be fair usually that issue is tile pressure from the studio hiring them rushing them so of course it’s not always their fault and I think it’s good to read the feedback but not let it change you vision if some one doesn’t like your vision then they don’t need to be a part of that community in the first place but if a significant amount of the fanbase that has been there for a long time start to notice things maybe there is some merit to reviewing things because perhaps maybe a something was forgotten or a mistake that wasn’t part of the authors vision was made and they didn’t even realize themselves but generally yeah some random Bozos opinion should not matter in the slightest if they don’t like how something went they can get lost And atleast personally I like when things don’t go how I expected them to cause I find with a lot of story’s they get too bland if I can guess the half the story before I happens I don’t really enjoy it very much I don’t feel much a big moment in the story happens and I already knew I want it to be shocking I want it to evoke some emotion. I feel like this goes to another thing I don’t really care for is art trends like just drawing something because some else drew it and it went viral like it’s one thing if you genuinely like the trend and want to do it but if your only doing it for the views it’s rather lame to me. I try not to compare my drawings to anyone else’s art in sense of progressivion but I do like to compare certain aspects and try to see what they might have done to try and improve my own drawings But sometimes it does get to me a little I just feel like I can see other people improving and I feel like sometimes like I’m getting worse and I’m not upset about it just confused a bit but I guess sometimes some drawings just don’t come out as well as others. One thing to say specifically about asmr where they don’t do the art or script that’s fine but sometimes I’d look for like a certain type of roleplay cause I wanted a certain sound like shortcut audio cause I really like those sounds and it will be different art a different uploaded and then it’s the same script between like 3 different videos and feels really strange to me. For me I like asmr primarily for sleep aid relaxation sometimes entertainment I’ll just put it on as background noise when I’m doing something I try not to take it as anymore then that I definitely feel people can get a bit to attached when they enjoy something to a specific person who does it in a genre it’s definitely fine to have Favorites but expecting more or treating them as something more then that definitely gets out of hand quickly looking for more then what they creator intended their content to be is definitely a problem these days Something I find weird is a lot of these big streamers and such that just bait their audience into a weird parasocial relationship then act like they are completely innocent when some one does something weird I’m not saying it’s ok for the person who did it to do it but at the same time if creators are abusing their leverage and treating them in an unhealthy way they can’t be innocent when something like that happens That said the day you stop making asmr will be a sad day but I do hope whatever you do you always succeed and enjoy whatever that may end up being maybe writing your own book or manga voice acting and story telling making your own entire story and world and you have done that to an extent but if one day we see thee alichu anime or whatever you going to call your creation I’ll be looking forward to that I really do think you can make and achieve anything you set your mind to I’ve only been here for 3ish year now but I’ve seen you make huge progress in those few years I am excited to see what you accomplish in the future if you will have us and I’m also gonna be working on a making things myself I’ve definitely been putting off some things I want to do blacksmithing I think my “excuse” for lack of a better word is legitimate until I get my own place I don’t think I can really persue that outside research Whitch I’ve done a lot but I’m gonna work on making my own creations some of them might involve your characters but I’ve got a lot of ideas I wanna work on for myself. I make and draw what I like and while I might not have much of an audience anymore not since my Destiny days but I’m gonna draw what I want thee only time I’m gonna listen to what some else wants me to draw if I genuinely like thee idea myself then I’ll draw it the way I want. I don’t think I will ever do commission maybe if I got to a point where people were asking me about it maybe I’d try it but if I got a commission I’m not gonna rush to complete it but I think I’d probably wanna have a deadline for myself so they always get it their drawing in a reasonable time. But no 100% sometimes I’ll be scrolling and I’ll see those posts where it feel like they are just making excuses and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It really is sad how short sighted everyone is these days atleast personally I know I spend to my time scrolling through shorts I try to consume long form content more often then not but I will admit sometimes it’s just more convenient when I need information quickly about something so it’s definitely a double edged sword it’s useful but at the same time short form content has caused alot of damage to peoples brains when I see art I personally feel the need to exam it especially these days to see if it’s ai but honestly that doesn’t feel to hard ai “art” just feels hallow if that makes sense like I can tell there was no effort heart and soul put into this it just feels empty. I enjoyed that ramble I have similar feeling on some of these things but you have also given me some things to think about

Mento

there's only one thing, One piece fans like more than consuming One Piece, someone talking about it.... I'm one of them😀

I have a lot of fun with the rambles too! Damn. That just do it thing hits hard. But you're completely right. There have been many instances in life (as recent as the beginning of this month lol) where I just had to do one thing but there was some sort of mental block stopping me. I'm not special, I'm not unique, I know I'm not the only one who goes through instances like that. Sometimes all we need to do is take that hard first step. I really like that you said not to make stuff for your audience and I really love that you called out people who take fictional things as reality. There are some audio's that you have made where I have thought "This isn't alichu anymore, this is Ali." And those audios tend to be my favorite. I think you can tell when an artist creates something that they wanted to as opposed to just treating it as work. As for the fictional thing, yeah, you're right. People need to touch grass, but they also need to mind their own fucking business. If no one is being physically hurt, just because something makes someone uncomfortable doesn't mean it should be erased or censored. I know you have mentioned it on stream (and I think we talked about it once), but I really hate censorship. It's interesting to hear that you consider ASMR more of a medium term thing. I love your passion for art, long term I hope I get to see(or read) what you truly want to create Ali :) You definitely weren't gentle in this ramble... but you shouldn't have to be gentle when talking about YOUR opinions. I won't always agree with you (I usually do though :P), but I will never lie and I will always respect someone's opinion even if I disagree with them. I usually expect the same in turn from people but it doesn't always workout that way :P You know, I think this might be my shortest response to a ramble yet. I'm slacking lol

Listening to your rambles is enjoyable in getting to know you more, like listening to a friend. For things like One Piece, I can understand if something is not to your preference and even having criticisms about the media, but sometimes the amount of obsession haters have in nitpicking things like how Oda draws women is just tiring. There's more that I can think of, but would rather not go on a tangent. Connected to what you said about how people try to push you and other creatives on what they want/don't want in the content/stories you make: It's interesting how now that people have a direct way to communicate with creators that some act like they're entitled to have stuff made solely for them, as opposed to seeing how the creator develops their stuff. It's one thing to be critical, it's another to be mean or rude. Ultimately is your work, and the audience needs to make the decision themselves as to whether what you make is what they want to partake in. I got into listening to your asmr before I knew about the whole gfe side of it all, and while the more flirty interactions are fun in the way you make them, I also like how you write the stories so it's more than just simply triggers or getting to some confession. Seems every artist does struggle with the whole comparing themselves to others, possibly stimming from a bad direction of being inspired by others. Admittedly, I do sometimes take an objective take on my work and how I function as a content creator and looking at others to see where my faults are. Sometimes it goes in directions like considering myself not a "real" artist cause I don't have the same type of work ethic and passion as others, but that still hasn't stopped me from making art my own way. I do have aspirations for expanding to other forms of creation, but I also know that I tend to either be lazy/hesitant about starting or prioritizing more urgent things or other projects that would be easier to work on. The commissioner take I highly agree with you on. I feel like so many semi-pro indie artists wanna make the money of the work, but haven't developed the work ethic to keep up the work queue effectively without making clients upset. In doing comms myself, I definitely use those stories and experiences to try and do my best to be timely in starting and completing comms. I never made a cap for my comm queue cause I never got more than maybe a couple clients with a single illustration at a time. That was until recently where I got a client that hit me with 5 comms at the turn of the year (another added later), and having two regulars try to join in too. I accepted them all, thinking I could manage, but in taking 2 whole months to finish them all, I will have to figure out a work around in preventing being piled like this for my own sanity and to allow myself the time to work on personal stuff. I appreciate the money and that they liked my work enough for that, but I feel so burned out now as a result that I may wanna give myself at least a week long break before I try opening the comms again so I can re-orient on personal projects I have long delayed on. A learning experience sure, but one I did not expect to have cause I underestimated how much others are willing to pay for art.

Great convo, always good to hear the passion behind your work! Question that came to mind though - if you don't intend to do asmr forever (which is completely understandable!), will you set up an archive of your audios somewhere at some point? Would be great to download the raw patreon/youtube audios in case they ever get taken down - there's a few I revisit frequently which would be a travesty to lose! (And you never know when the YouTube ban hammer may strike 😭)

🐑 I am sheeppilled 🐑 Just kidding 🙂‍↕️ I finished listening, and I found your perspectives to be interesting. 🤔 Good to see that you have a strong defense of your creative process and output. 🙂‍↕️ And it was also interesting to see your perspective about Commission Waiting Times too as that seems to be a very hot button issue lately lol. I've been commissioning art for almost 5-6 years for my novels, and there's been times where I actually do/did have to wait "months" for some things to get completed BUT the exception to that is with art partners/friends that I know I can TRUST to eventually deliver if they need a break or need to take longer than usual, or at a minimum I can TRUST them to LOCK IN when the situation demands it. ........however, if it's someone that I can't trust to lock in then I'm certainly not going to trust them with any serious project commissions and only hand over comm ideas that "aren't serious" Because MANY people can be a talented artist with a unique art style, but if they can't lock in and do the work, then it's not a surprise how some of these artists that want more consistent/more serious work can't get it. The work ethic just isn't there and people can feel/sense that sort of thing.

Enjoyed this ramble, I liked the surprise you put into your audios, the assassin taking the listener out did catch me off guard which is really nice. I completely understand about being busy, it's impossible to get to everything and everyone all the time.
