How to Draw: Seated Poses (Patreon)
Content
In this video I'm diving deep into how to approach drawing poses that are seated.
It might sound like there's nothing special or complicated about a seated pose, that it's not that different from a standing pose.
But it is!
It really is!
And the reason why it's so different and you really need to shift your brain into a different approach, is because of how the weight of the body is being held.
When we are drawing standing poses (which are super common) we are pretty good at balancing the weight between the two feet.
But when the model is sitting down, the distribution and physics of how the body holds that weight is different. Now the weight is not in the feet but in the pelvis.
Oh no! The scary pelvis!
If you are not feeling confident in understanding the pelvis yet, you are in luck, because I have a pelvis tutorial for you that you can check out HERE.
The most important thing you can do to improve your seated poses is to understand the pelvis!
Take your time, practice, get it wrong, try it again and eventually it will all click into place.
But you need to do intention practice!
Good luck!
