Starting off the 2024 draw-along challenges with a nice easy one...

This month's reference was from the wonderful Dynamic Muse, as always, if you are able to, please sign up to their platform if you are able and support the wonderful work they are doing. 

There are lots of great ideas and directions that the patrons took this reference this month. Even if you were not able to play along, it's can be really helpful to watch feedback on other artists' work.

In this month's feedback we tackle:

  • direction of the movement
  • chunky knees
  • squash and stretch
  • suggesting foreshortening

Hi Gillian. Thanks for the feedback on my January draw along submission I found it all very constructive and was especially taken by the suggestion to use the tutu to indicate movement. It would have never occurred to me to do that. I had some questions re: Patreon. Firstly, I was wondering when the increase in membership, which I’m fine with, is going to be in effect and as well, secondly, the community chat forum will be up and running. Thirdly, as much as I want to take advantage of Studio Grafits first sale of the year web-navigation wise I can get to the sale splash page but can’t seem to get to the model packs and wondering if you have any tips. It seems convoluted and any assistance you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks again for the feedback.

Hi Bill, glad you found the feedback useful. Adding secondary action to clothing and hair can really help add movement very easily. Re: Patreon - A higher tier has already been added to the membership levels. You can choose to stay at your $5 pencil tier or if you want you can upgrade to the $10 cconte tier. You should be able to do this under the 'Membership' tab near the top of the home page. The community forum has not been set up yet but it is something I'm looking into at the moment, as it would be a great place for all the artists to share their work and resources more easily. Not sure why you're not able to see the packs on the Grafit website...strange. You may need to make an account perhaps to view them? I've added links to Studio Grafit and Satine Zillah's Art Station store at the bottom of the post above. Let me know if those work for you. You can also sign up for their mailing lists, then they will email you directly when they have new packs released and sales. Thanks Bill!
