I have a new sketchbook and I'm dedicating it to things from my garden. In this video, I'm using one of the Floral Friday 🌸🌺 reference photos to experiment with glazing. It really opened my eyes to how rich glazing can make shadows appear. I hope you enjoy this tutorial and give it a go! The supply packet for my Dabblers and above tiers will be available later this afternoon in a separate post. 💕 Keep a lookout for it.

Watercolor Peony : Glazing Layers & Wet-on-Wet Techniques for Soft Shadows

Patreon: https://patreon.com/ArtWithViv This piece came together through multiple delicate layers, using glazing to gradually build depth and create those rich, dimensional shadows. I also incorporated a wet-in-wet technique to achieve gentle transitions of color, allowing the petals to feel soft, luminous, and full of life. This process was a bit different from my usual style—more patient, more intentional—and it truly opened my eyes to how powerful layering can be in watercolor.
