July is officially World Watercolor Month, a month-long celebration that encourages artists of every skill level to pick up a paintbrush and enjoy the magic of watercolor and gouache.

The idea is simple: paint a little each day (or as often as you can!), experiment, play, and most importantly...have fun! There are no rules that say every painting has to be a masterpiece. Some days you might create a finished piece, and other days you may simply practice mixing colors, painting leaves, skies, or little studies. Every brushstroke helps you grow.

One of the wonderful things about World Watercolor Month is that it reminds us that creativity isn't about perfection—it's about showing up. Whether you're painting for five minutes or five hours, you're building confidence, improving your skills, and creating a beautiful habit.

This year, my July theme is ✨ Light & Glow ✨, so if you're looking for inspiration, I'd love for you to join me! We'll be exploring glowing sunsets, candlelight, reflections, fireflies, moonlight, sparkling water, and all the beautiful ways light transforms a painting.

So dust off those watercolor or gouache paints, fill your water jar, and let's make July colorful together!
