Ever wondered how to come up with new story ideas or where inspiration can be found? In this article, I look at the techniques I use to come up with stories, along with the criteria I feel are necessary for a good story - or fanfic - to work.

I also want to ask you all; what topic would you like to see covered in future articles?

Is there something you find difficult or would like more content on? Let me know via a comment and I'll see what can be done.

Thanks! This is something I struggle with fairly often. Glad to have your input on that. I actually can't think of anything specifically I'd like to hear your take on, that you haven't touched on already. Maybe humor? It's hard finding that balance of humorous situations and serious tension. Just a though.

Love seeing these guidelines on better writing, for something new, it'd be cool to see you give a guide on how to do Crossovers.

Thank you for this, it was definitely useful :D I'd actually like to see something on the creation of original story arcs. Sometimes the hardest part of writing is making a good story arc. Too short and it's useless, too long and it becomes painful.

Thanks for all the articles! If you haven't mentioned it already in another article, (if you have sorry) but I was wondering if you had any tips on how to engage the reader/flesh out a story.

I wonder what it'd take for you to write that fic about yourself.
