The Saudi era at Newcastle United is over. After transforming Newcastle into one of the wealthiest and most ambitious clubs in English football, PIF withdraws from the project and sells its involvement in the club. The enormous financial safety net that changed expectations at St James' Park disappears almost overnight.

Newcastle keep the squad and infrastructure built during the investment era, but there will be no more unlimited financial backing. The club must now rely on its own revenue, recruitment and sporting success to remain among England's elite.
