Rexxar is one of the stronger solo laners, and one of the best picks at controlling a point on maps like Dragon Shire and Braxis Holdout. He can also be picked on any other map or even played in the 4 man as a ranged DD if you can master his kit well. He has a very strong kit that keeps him very safe, has an AOE stun, and good damage output if you know what to do on him. We will cover all that and more here!

Hi Fan, I've been playing leoric vs a rexxar and it seems he was always winning the trades. What are some tips you can give against a Rexxar?

Playing against rexxar is pretty difficult, only few heroes can beat him. Usually you want to try to land damage on the main rexxar whenever possible, as misha damage is not very valuable. With Leoric this could mean using W on rexxar instead of Misha. You can also reverse all the things in this video. For example, if Rexxar wants to autoattack you every time you hit Misha, then you should try to find openings where you can hit Misha for free when Rexxar is to far away to return damage on you. With Leoric specifically, using your E unstoppable in order to avoid Misha stun will help out a lot too. If you can bait him in, use E to unstop the misha stun and also use it to get in melee range of the rexxar, followed by a q w and as many autoattacks as you can manage on the main rexxar, that could be one way to outtrade him. That being said though, this specific matchup is rexxar favored so he should win if he plays as well as you do.

Thanks to your guide I've been having some success with Rexxar on Braxis especially. However, I recently laned against a Chen and he completely shut me down with his sustain and jump engage. What should that match up look like for Rexxar? It felt like I needed to hug my turret, which sort of defeats the purpose of going Rexxar on that map.

This is a tough matchup since Chen can get on your main rexxar right away. You have 2 options to protect Rexxar, either be near towers as you said or if you are contesting point, you should try to always have misha be close enough to rexxar so that you can stun chen immediately after he jumps to rexxar so he cannot do much damage. Your window to do damage to him is usually after he has to start walking away from your rexxar, do as many AAs as you can then. If you miss your stun or misha is too far away when rexxar gets jumped on then you pretty much lose the matchup right away.
