Thrall is a very strong melee bruiser that can both solo lane and 4 man. He is tricky to play as with all melee heroes, as you have to understand how to weave in and out of the fight safely. He is also tricky to solo lane with on any 3 lane map, as you have to stop the other solo laner from out double soaking you. We talk about all this and more in this video and explain everything you need to know to play him to his full potential!

All you need to know about every build and talent for Thrall! Lots of Thrall specific tips and tricks and playstyle explanations as well! There will also be a Thrall Grandmaster VOD Analysis(in a separate post) to add even more coverage to the hero!

FINALLY IT'S HERE

EkelAlfredo

how about crash lightning on lvl 1? What would be your suggested build when playing Thrall in the 4 man?!

fanhots

Crash lightning is only good if you can stack if very quickly, I think this is OK on 2 lane maps where you fight a ton 4v4 such as braxis or BOE. On 3 lane maps, especially ones with lots of camps which means you wont fight much(Garden of Terror for example) I would still go the green level 1 even in 4 man.

This is great - going through a bunch of your guides. I'd love to see a guide on how to punish common low-level mistakes (or avoid them), perhaps for different rank levels. E.g. bronze players seem to teamfight no matter what if they are grouped or there's an objective - 1v5, 3v5, Storm level disadvantage, doesn't matter. So baiting teamfights (e.g. by running to boss but not hard committing) when you have an advantage should be OP.

Freewalker

I assume you think about a good target when picking Ancestral Wrath? E.g. Anub'arak has shield for tankiness (bad, can't damage that), Garrosh has armor (pretty good, armor is ignored), Arthas and Diablo are pure high health (best - high damage and huge heal).

fanhots

Absolutely, everything you said there is accurate. Of course everything is situational, if the anub has 1 hp left and you can kill him with AW then using it would be good in those situations.

Freewalker

Interesting trick I found with Thrall: only the first hit of the Tempest Fury third attack (the triple) needs to land, then you can walk away. The other two hits will land automatically. This makes the floating arm look pretty weird, especially if you have used Wind Rush to blink away!

fanhots

Yep, its all considered 1 attack so you can animation cancel it just like with any other attack!
