All you need to know about every build and talent for ETC! Lots of ETC specific tips and tricks and playstyle explanations as well! ETC is a pretty underrated tank these days, one of the most lethal kill tanks with the ability to AOE stun + knockback into your team. He is pretty squishy until you master the armor from abilities but once you do he is very deadly.

You make me wanna play ETC again, such a fun hero, thanks for the guide and the SL inspiration! Wouldn't Mic Check at 13 be better in the main tank build than in the Stage Dive offlane build? As the offlaner you're mostly clearing waves or 1v1, so you don't get the cdr value, whereas in the 4 man you can more reliably hit 2 people? Encore would make you have your global more often even when only fighting the enemy offlaner. And then just because I said it about Dva, ETC's W also happens to interrupt Yrel E and slow her waveclear. I've also heard that Stage Dive ETC can be used as an offlane counter for Dehaka with the AA talents. You can smack him away from the wave and potentially interrupt his dig if he's careless and tries to global in your vicinity, and you can match his global. Do you think that's a viable match-up to try for?

Is there a certain situation you think offlane etc is a better pick than something like a dehaka? Certain map or comp?

Thank you for the guide as always Fan! Finally was able to solve the Patreon billing problem, dunno why it suddenly accepted but it did peepoGiggles xD A small question I have: I just played a Rexxar game on DShire and went pretty well, but I noticed ETC had Hammer-on (E) at level 7 and it was actually a pain to keep Misha on the point with him smacking it until I got my 13 talent and destroyed him. He was the Main Tank but their Artanis wasn't facing me so he had to do it. Would you say that when playing ETC as an offlane at level 7 Hammer-on and Echo Pedal can be a preference rather than always taking Echo Pedal for the wave clear? For example if I face a Dehaka I would take Hammer-on to bully him but if it was an Imperious I would go Echo Pedal to yoink the wave. Is this kind of thought correct or do you not think like this in Grandmaster/High Level games? Love your mom. I mean... your content yes :)

I think Mic check is good in both builds, just depends on whether you think you need a lot of peel in the actual fights. Even with stage dive you'll still be diving into the fight sooner or later, but encore and mic check are always both good. I think that is a decent way to counter dehaka if you are tracking him very closely yeah

Dehaka is one of the best offlaners so not often but usually 2 lane maps as ETC waveclear is not amazing, and usually when you want some more strong CC, ETC Q is a lot better than Dehaka Q in terms of pure stun

He is just squishy compared to most other tanks but if the game looks good for him he can be A or S tier. Heavily dependent on the skill level of the player to weave in his armor abilities and use his W at the right time in order to mitigate his squishiness

Yeah you could take hammer on to win the fight vs the other offlaner, but if its a 3 lane map and the other offlaner is smart then he can just go double soak and you will never be able to with hammer on so you'd lose on soaking pretty badly if you aren't able to suppress the other offlaner completely.

Fun fact: DIablo can cancel moshpit with his Q dash. When you dash a mosh with diablo you have to do it from almost max dash range to gain enough speed to 'get through' the mosh. :)

I agree that Moshpit is such a strong ability that you want to reduce its cooldown as much as possible with Encore on Lvl13. But I feel like there are way more situations where your W brings a lot more utility when you take Mic Check on 13 so you have it available more often in a team fight. My experiences brought me to a conclusion that still after the changes to Encore, it is better to pick Mic Check most of the time, because if you are patient enough with your Mosh, you don't need it more often than every 2 minutes, so knocking back the enemies even more provides more value, no?

Yes that is perfectly fine if you can get good value out of W. I also prefer W CDR but both options are strong.
