Matt is kind of annoying me this episode. I think it's fair enough that he's not taking the engagement well and I think he's right that things will have to change but it doesn't have to be us vs them. Kris has raced for other farms and owners before. It shouldn't be a problem if she rides for Davis farm occasionally, especially if she prioritizes Raintree like she wants to. But also Junior doesn't care who she rides for as long as she's happy so if she feels passionately about it, she can refuse to ride for Davis farm and Junior would support that. It's only Matt making it a problem. I feel really bad that Kris is jumping through all these hoops to make the weekend work and it's causing strain for her at Raintree and then Junior has to cancel it. But like you said it's not something he can blow off and in the long-term being financially independent from both Ken and Raintree will go a long way. I do think Ken has his hands all of over this deal though, even from the beginning. I don't really buy that the guy saw a random article AND that the company overlooked a poor pitch without influence. That said though, it's not like Ken is an investor in the wind turbine. He doesn't get any money and Davis farms isn't in the alternative energy industry so there's only so much he can do once the deal is actually signed. It's actually a little short-sighted of him cause he's losing his financial manipulation card. But because Junior and Kris are moving fast there's no time to make a grand scheme. His plan is basically just keep forcing them to push the wedding until Junior comes to his senses and realizes he doesn't love Kris. I think it's a shame that they got rid of Noah and then had Dani and Matt kiss. I liked Noah and I feel like he was good for her. He would have gotten behind the racing once she separated from her father, which she ended up doing but I guess it was just too late and he didn't know how to navigate the emotional mine field between Dani and Ken. I was scared that Jean finding out about the engagement would set her relationship with Kris back especially because of how everyone else reacted but she seemed to be almost supportive, kind of. More supportive than everyone besides Dani anyway lol.
