Collecting our ocean rowing boat (Patreon)

You guys heard it here first. We have had the boat surveyed by a Marine Surveyor and she passed bar a few little bits and bobs to do before the main crossing. We had to empty all the equipment out on to a tarpaulin so the survey could be done.Once this was complete we could check off the equipment against the list. We found a few bits missing, she's been on charter with the BBC, they found one EPIRB, but another one was still missing. So taken off £500 off the price whilst they figure out where it is or replace it.Whilst all this was going on Ian was getting the trailer light board to work. New towbar and new light board you would think it would just work. NooooooHad to borrow some tools from Rannoch Adventure, where the boat was being stored. The main boat builder of the new ocean rowing boats. A socket with extending bit, a Philips screw driver and later on a tiny electrical flat head. 2 or three hours later, Ian rewired the car electrics and after much trial and error fixed the problem. I started to take some of the stickers off her that the BBC film crew had covered up her unsightly bits with. She needs lots of cleaning, sticker marks removing, sanding and tarting up as well some repairs and bits replacing. We've got time though to do these repairs. By having her 30 months before the race, we will know her inside out which can only benefit us compared to a crew which might only have a few months to train on her before heading out. Money transfered, insurance put in place. ✅We are now on the 3.5 hr journey back home with her.Happy, tired and a bit emotional. It's really happening!Jooles and Ian
