Blogging about the challenges of ocean rowing is always an adventure, but when you factor in the tight squeeze inside the rowing boat cabin, it becomes an even more interesting topic. With just enough room to fit two people, the cabin of the ocean rowing boat can feel cramped, and neither of us are particularly big either. As we settled into the cabin this evening and took in our new surroundings, we quickly realised that every inch of space was precious. We had to be organised and efficient with storing our gear, food supplies, and equipment. Even small items had to be carefully placed to maximise the limited space available and so you don't lose things. Despite the tight quarters, we will find ways to make it work. We are able to maintain a positive attitude, even on challenging days, by focusing on the ultimate goal - to cross the ocean and reach our destination, our Antigian honeymoon.Living in such close quarters will bring us closer together as husband and wife, as we learn to adapt and rely on each other even more as the elements test us. Taking turns to cook, row, and rest, we will develop a routine that works for us. Sleeping and rowing in shifts as well as Fueling up, cleaning bodies free of salt water by washing after every shift, changing the auto helm, cleaning solar panels, making water, navigation and weather checking and planning all needs to be done in your 2 hours rest period. As we face rough waters and strong winds, the small cabin of the ocean rowing boat will became our sanctuary. It's a safe haven amid the chaos of the open ocean. With nothing but the sound of the waves, possibly whales or dolphin sounds through the hull and each other's company, we will gain a newfound appreciation for each other, mother nature, no light pollution, the night sky, the wildlife and the journey we were on.In conclusion, although the limited space in the ocean rowing boat cabin can be challenging, it is a small price to pay for the incredible adventure that awaits those brave enough to face the open ocean. With careful planning, efficient organization, and a positive attitude, crossing the ocean in a rowboat becomes a life-changing experience.Dream big! Jooles and IanX
