I should have called in for this episode!! I'm going to tell you my personal Bachelor's Grove experience! Back in the early 2000s my friends and I decided to go poke around BG. After I got off work we all headed out. We listened to Chronic 2001 on the way. You had to park a way away and tread through the forest to get to the cemetery and gated area. You weren't supposed to poke around there. When we arrived I was so saddened by the gravestones that had been broken or pushed over. So I collected wild flowers to place on each grave and spoke gently to the resting souls. Near where we entered there's a big block. I'm not sure if it is a grave marker or not. I sat down, crossed my legs, and turned to look at my friends. Every single one of them had pale faces and comically wide eyes. I asked them what was wrong. They just pointed at me and looked at one another quite freaked out. Eventually one of them told me they had been looking up the cemetery beforehand. There was a notorious picture of a spirit sitting on a block, legs crossed, looking back towards the camera... exactly how I was. I was amused since I've always been a sensitive of sorts, but they were ready to get out of there ASAP.

Well dang! I live in Illinois and I owe you about 10 stories. My favorite name for a spooky Illinois incident is of course the Mad Gasser of Mattoon. The guy in the Elgin Cemetery needs to check out their history museum as likely that’s where the microfiche went from the library.

I grew up very close to the Manteno State Hospital. Most of it is gone now but we did get to explore it in the early 2000s. It had those industrial service tunnels. Nothing happened to me but definitely a creepy place considering the history.

I used to have a TV (early 2000's) that would mess up when I ran the vacuum cleaner near it...the display was normal except that the color formed a 'bullseye' pattern of rainbow colors. after some time, the color would become normal until the next time I ran the vacuum cleaner.

A rebuttal of sorts to Vince's story about hearing train noises in the cemetery recording in Elgin. As someone who grew up next to train tracks, freight trains run at all hours of the night, 24/7 and if there are uncontrolled intersections, they HAVE to sound their horns in warning. Not sure if that's the case here but it can't be discounted.
