Yeahh... I was thinking a) there were no interesting details that could have come from life instead of some other call he heard b) caller did sound stressed, which was the only thing that made me think it might be real. But someone else makes the point maybe the pressure he's feeling is his buddies listening in on the prank... Why would a Bigfoot be carrying a deer head into a yard 🤷🏼‍♀️ OTH a lot of kids don't really learn how to tell a story. So, 'crap story' isn't totally enough. But as details, "direct eye contact and he turned around and left" -- that's the worst one IMHO -- and "deer head" are not subtle observations . Sounds pieced together. You're right though, tough call, you don't want to disappoint some kid if he had a real experience!

The “how the sausage is made” entry is someone telling stories like Tom said. The caller seems so “put on the spot” from one of his buddies maybe.

On the “how the sausage is made” story... my wife and I both agree that it sounds fabricated. The way the detail of the head is just kind of tagged on at the end, along with the throwaway mention of Bigfoot, had us both thinking it is a crank 🤷🏻‍♀️

This definitely sounds like a campfire tale the kid heard somewhere. Then threw in the deer head to make it sound like it was his story. All of your call ins sound like they have some kind of je nais se quois to them. The boys call does not have any of that. Thanks for sharing it with us.

The “how the sausage is made” call in was total crap. Where are the details? He said he looked it straight in the eye? Yeah right! Didn’t really give a good location and then added the deer head at the end. Either that was the worst storytelling ever or total crap.
