The twinbmw story sort of feels like it could be solved with the license plate, doesn't it? A set of twins go out and buy matching cars. (Hereafter referred to Twin A and Twin B.) They get a set of license plates and each of them put the same plate on the back of their respective BMW. Illegal, sure--but if you're only taking the cars out for car shows, it's a neat little gimmick if you're twins. Mabe it makes people laugh and take more photos of your cars. Maybe the rest of the time, Twin B has a different, normal plate for his car. They go to the car show. The caller gets behind Twin A. Twin B has already left, but is driving slowly. Twin A turns toward his house, and the caller goes the other way and catches up to slow-driving Twin B, who happened to be driving with a similar-looking guy to Twin A. Far-fetched...probably. But possible? Definitely. But--as the man himself always says--I wasn't there.
