Happy almost New Year! MAU is my favorite podcast but I’m a true crime podcast listener as well. First discovered MAU after a true crime podcast did a crossover episode about black eyed kids. I had an experience that ended up getting me looking up black eyed kid stories which got me hooked on MAU. So long story longer, I remember Kip’s story about the haunted house and the suspicious death of an elderly woman that was the previous resident. I also currently listen to a podcast about a truly terrifying serial killer named Israel Keyes. Not sure if it’s appropriate to mention another podcast here but it’s easy to look up. He basically hunted people for fun all over the country. He often had no ties his victims. He was a monster among us of sorts. Anyway, he had property in far northern NY he would travel to from places further west. One of his known pair of victims were a couple in VT. I’m familiar with Western NY because I live there. I’ve been curious as to whether Israel Keyes ever made his way through Western NY on his travels to far northern NY. It seems at least possible as a potential route. What makes me wonder about this is that Keyes never confessed to all his crimes but he did allude to some including mentioning an older woman and a car. He was also known to set fires to cover up his crimes. I believe the timeframe mentioned was when Israel Keyes was actively traveling to his northern NY property and traveling to the northeast to plan future crimes including his Vermont murders. I’ll admit it’s a stretch and Israel Keyes is an infamous serial killer that can seem to be everywhere for every unsolved crime. I don’t know if he can be definitely ruled out as a potential suspect because I don’t know exact dates of when the elderly woman died or whether that time could then be compared to Keyes travel timeline. There’s many gaps in his timeline because he went to great lengths to hide his movements when planning and committing crimes. More likely he is not involved but I’d be remiss not to at least mention it. Kip’s story is definitely unsettling and it’s been stuck in the back of my mind. Sorry for the ramble and thank you.
