Really spicy few episodes this week! Bit of a love triangle and tournaments the first half but then things accelerated in episodes 7 & 9 with conspiracy and a big plot twist! Loved it. Enjoy :)

Me to me: I can start watching this at midnight and still be functional in the morning, right…? Also me to me: No. You definitely can’t But I know what I’m watching tomorrow lol!

Your face when THAT happened, you were all 🤯🤯

I really like the dynamics of this show, like the pro-bending. I know a lot of people don't like the love triangle, but I think it's a good addition. Well, they are teenagers, I think many people remember themselves in such situation or at least know people who were in it. It's awkward and funny at the same time. And yes, bloodbending, I was waiting for your reaction to this 😀

Kate

By the way, do you plan to continue reacting to the ATLA live action series?

So each team had to ante up 30,000 yuans for the championship pot, and Shiro Shinobi (the unsung hero of this show) said there were 16 teams in the tournament. That’s a championship pot worth 480,000 yuans. I’ve been assuming that 1 yuan is worth about a dime (10¢ or 1/10 of a US dollar) because Korra tried to buy “one of everything” from the food stand in episode 1 and it would’ve cost 20 yuans, and $2 for that amount of food in the 1920’s sounds about right. So the championship pot would be worth about 48,000 USD, which is an especially insane amount in the 1920’s. And Bolin and Korra nearly fucked it all up by trying to date their teammates during the tournament!

Avatar: *confesses feelings* Potential Love Interest: Idk I’m confused. Avatar Spirit: I know what’ll help!

You're a really intuitive and emotionally in tune kind of person... it's a joy to watch your reactions and you feel like a good friend even though i don't know you personally.

The same thing happened with season 2 in terms of not being renewed until it was already over. I think 3 and 4 were more of a package, but I could be wrong there.

The accelerated bending in Legend of Korra makes so much sense and it's so well developed by the writers. In Aang's day metal, lightning and blood bending were very new and we watched some of them being discovered in a segregated world during a war where nations couldn't learn from each other but when they, as in people of different tribes, had the opportunity to work together, the speed with which they learned from each other was insanely fast and inevitable. The way Bumi was a beast of a bender because his earth bending was unpredictable. He would use airbending moves, in a way you would expect an earthbending kid would after learning from his air bending childhood best friend, or the way that Zuko and Iroh mastered lighting by using waterbending wisdom. All those skills took so long to develop because of the segregation but when you take that away and put all four elements, and non benders (some of which had military and engineering experience) in a city, the average talent and skill set would sky rocket. So at first watching the show I couldn't wrap my head around how much the world building could change so much in under a century but now looking back at it, it makes absolute sense. It's still mind-blowing how good and how well done this show is😭😭 You can tell the creators really love what they do and what they've made

I was literally googling everyones height, and said "there's no way she's only 5'8 she seems taller" and at the exact same time you go "how tall is she?" I was shocked lol had to share
