I enjoyed this sequel far more than I was expecting. Yes it covered a couple themes that Finding Nemo did but I loved the attention given to Dory and the value in trusting yourself and the unique gifts you have been given. Enjoy :)

I will say, although I love this film, this one also hit me like a brick wall when I first saw it. I was a caretaker for my grandmother who I was close with who had dementia, and I remember seeing this movie in theaters shortly after she passed. The memory stuff, especially the beginning broke me a little bit, but it’s still a wonderful film that I like to revisit every now and then.

Fun fact: the aquarium is based off the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California. My mom used to take me and my siblings there all the time, it was a long time ago but I remember the otters and seals that inhabited the shores… I missed living there ❤️

Glad you checked this one out. After the first 5 minutes i was not sure you would survive this emotionally meteor shower but good job checking it out. I think the film is a little too long the climax post parents could have been shorter but it was a good sequel

I really adore this sequel. Hank is the cranky, but lovable character we needed. AND, all the new characters of Hank, the whale shark (forget the names, kinda like Dory LOL), and the beluga whale and Dory's parents, all of them back at the reef in Australia at the drop off area. Love it. I ABSOLUTELY love your reactions Oscar when Dory found her parents shell trails...the look on your face, the misty eyes, and the hands up to the mouth, holding your breath...your vulnerability, and showing your heart at that moment is just heart warming. Love ya kid, Brian

Finding Dory is such a treat! You should also check out Road to El Dorado or Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron if you haven't seen them--Dreamworks really did have fun with it in the early 2000s. But whether Disney, Pixar, or any others, I'm just so happy with all the movies you've been exploring! :) **Edit* Scratch that, I just realized you already did Spirit!

Wow, I saw when it came out in theaters and hardly remembered it. I dont cry but I did for this one rewatching it. It really got me 😭 Ellen Degeneres is amazing as Dory. I love her performance.

I'm so glad you understood - Finding Nemo is Marlin finding Nemo, Finding Dory is Dory finding herself. I know logically that Nemo is the "better" movie of the two, but for someone who knows what it's like to not have their brain work the same as everyone else's, to have to adapt to a world that isn't always friendly to them, this one just hits harder. And Hank is just a vibe. His voice actor is perfect.
