I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had watching this movie and how interesting the themes were. The animation grew on me very quickly. Enjoy :)

Literally never thought you would watch this!! when it first came out I couldn’t stop raving about it to my family… my mom watched it with me and we both shared a cry. amazing film and great characters as well

the reason you haven't really heard of it, is because it was heavily negatively reviewed by mostly adult men, that didn't like that the movie was about Asian's, or girls.

This one is so fun! Great reaction as usual! I thought of a few more movies to watch: Balto 1,2 & 3 (admittedly the first one is the best of this franchise, but I really love the second one as well! third one's just ok) The Last Man on Earth (series) the Last Unicorn :)

Watching this movie for the second time now… It hits home for a lot of us women and girls who were raised to be “the good little girl.” What parents don’t always realize is that only enforcing the “be a good girl” is not always beneficial to the child, as it really is just conducive to an efficient family life for the parents. I know it very well, and for me, I still have issues with saying no, I constantly apologize for my existence and never take up space, and have a constant feeling of never being good enough. I like how this film enforces breaking the cycle of generational trauma and being more free.

Rhetorical Thrill

I really like a lot of what this movie tries to do, and there are plenty of fun and relatable moments, but as a whole I think it fumbles the execution. It feels like five different movies and can't seem to stick to a cohesive narrative. It's not terrible or anything, I just think there was a lot of potential that didn't pay off.

Something I always questioning, Meimei is 13 and her mother said "it's too early" The whole film is more or less about 'growing up and becoming a woman'. And I love it's in early 2000s with the CDs and all the stuff we had.

I'd not seen this one before. Not a bad movie. Definately got me thinking back to being a teenager (althoughI feel my entry into periods was a lot less manic. And I don't recall any pandas). Thanks for the watch, Oscar. I enjoyed your take on this.
