I was shocked at how emotional the end of this movie was. I did love how they took such a classic story and put a cool spin on it to help the characters grow! Enjoy :)

I've been missing your reactions the past few weeks ❤️. I'm so happy you're back! Watching this right now while going to work! Have a nice day Oscar (or evening probably in Australia 🤣)

Rhetorical Thrill

My ridiculously janky sleep schedule matches up so well with your time zone 😁

Lily

the scream i just scrumpt

Sarah Marion

So this is 1910-1920s New Orleans, Louisiana and its highly unlikely Charlotte and Tiana would be friends due to Jim Crow segregation laws but Disneys not known for being historically accurate

Maike_Staytiny

If you really want to watch live action movies from disney i recommend maleficent and cruella, they reinterpretate the story from the villians perspective

Rebecca

Rip to a real one #JusticeForRay

Rebecca

Imo don't waste your time with live actions bud

Emily D Fredriksen

Oh hell yeah !!!! my jaw literally dropped to the floor Day 125: of suggesting (my girl 1991)

I really slept on this movie when I was younger, I love it now! Tiana is such a driven character and is definitely up there in my favorite princesses. I do really wish we got more time with her as a human. I found those parts of the movie some of the best. And I went from really caring less about Naveen back then to loving him now! In my eyes I’m very picky about Disney romance and normally am not too interested in it but I really loved their relationship! He and the Beast are my favorite princes probably, because I loved watching them actively fall in love with their princesses and work so hard to improve for them. The scene where he sets up the little dinner for Tiana and proudly serves her a plate of minced food because it’s the one practical adult skill he now has always melts my heart.

Rhetorical Thrill

I love this one because while it's perfectly appropriate for kids, there's a level of maturity to it that I appreciate, and that you don't see often in these movies. The stakes are high, the villain is terrifying, there's actual permanent death, the love story feels real and natural, and both the male and female leads are flawed characters with good arcs. Never gets enough love in my opinion.

Sarah Marion

If I were Tiana, I would’ve named my first born Raymond or Evangeline

If your kinda into Disney movies now. Please I can not put into words how incredibly wonderful the Disney movie Saving Mr Banks (2013) starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson is. Absolutely incredible. I absolutely promise you, YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY IF YOU WATCH THAT MOVIE OSCAR. At least watch the trailer I'm sure you'll agree its an absolutely fantastic movie. And of course watch the other Disney princess animated movies like Sleeping Beauty (1959) and Snow white and the seven Dwarfs (1937) OMG what a fantastic movie ALL TIME CLASSIC!!! You totally have to watch snow white and the seven Dwarfs and of course like I said before Alfred Hitchcock's horror movie Psycho starring Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins another all time CLASSIC!!! (1960). Alfred Hitchcock is absolutely the master of suspense!!! Fantastic movies and TV shows that he directed. You should watch some of his TV shows to. Alfred Hitchcock presents and the Alfred hitchcock hour

Liam

I love the villain in this i love how technically he never lies and 'friends on the otherside' is a banger also please dont watch the live action films

Rebecca

"Well, I've waited this long!" The writers were SO wrong for that 💀 Your reaction was hilarious 😂

Ali D

A lot of people would probably prefer if you went deeper into animations (including other studios) rather than waste time on the live actions 😬

mia lily 🌸

okay Oscar we get it, you have good taste in moviesssss

Liam

You still have all the classic disney films to watch, you should watch open season too

Kelsey Hansler

Omgggg yay! So excited to watch this, going to watch this on my lunch at work! Thanks Oscar 🤩

Rebecca

I miss 2D animation 😭

Fireflye97

I’m glad you got to watch this one! I’m not a big fan of the live actions…they’re just meh (I do like the Maleficent movies though). Ray’s death hits me so hard, brings tears to my eyes. I would like to recommend: Ready Player One, Guardians of Ga’hoole, Secret of NIMH, Titan A.E., and Jurassic World 3 (I think you’ll really like that one).

Thomas B

may i suggest a run of reactions: 101 dalmatians & cruella

Kjrsten Schindler

26:30 I read somewhere that Lottie had the dress for Tiana made special for her. It’s evident in the start of the movie because Lottie’s dresses are always pink and the one that she gave Tiana is blue so it does not match Lottie’s vibe at all!

Raquelly Reacts

I love this movie, Tiana is my favorite Disney princess and this is the best soundtrack imo.

Lizzie✨

Yesss been waiting for this one!! And yes plz do the live action remakes specifically beauty & the beast, Aladdin & the little mermaid & decide for yourself how u feel cuz they’re not all bad.

Alva

You should watch The Rescuers Down Under. It's such a great, underrated Disney film.

Auri_23

This movie was my favourite when I was little and it's been a long time since I watched it for the last time. I realized that this movie still holds very well to this day ! The story is very original and the villain is so good, one of the best Disney villain in my opinion. And as a french speaker, It's always nice to hear all of these french words in an english film ! Loved the reaction btw

azulaghoul

one of my favorite movies, i love it more as an adult

Michael

If you really want to watch more live-action Disney, I recommend Maleficent w/ Angelina Jolie and 101 Dalmatians with Glenn Close. They both have sequels as well if you end up liking the first.

Tate Wells

Hey Oscar I have a few recommendations Land before time Beethoven More X-men if you haven’t already recorded American dragon - a mythical modern day Romeo and Julliet storyline set in nyc. its animated and has the same voice actress of katara from avatar the last air bender Phil of the future- a time travel themed disney channel sitcom show. its sadly only two season but hopefuly the fan can get it to come back hoping youll get on the train with us

Elvira

omg there was probably more people requesting this film, but i did aswell, and im so happy you decided to watch it!!

Emilysr97

I recommend Quest For Camelot 1998

Michael

I believe the common consensus is to call Tiana's friend, "Spoiled Sweet". Yes, she is spoiled by her father, but she is such a nice person at heart, probably helped by her father not being a racist as well considering the time period. The theory is also she probably tried to help Tiana in her dream, but Tiana would probably refuse due to wanting to work for it instead of getting a hand-out.

Astoria

I really love the theory that Evangeline is the “second star to the right” from Peter Pan and the wishing star from Pinocchio. Timeline: in Pinocchio is only one bright star, same like the first time we met Evangeline but after Raymond dead there are two stars, like in Peter Pan. And Tiana is the only Disney Princess with 2 wedding dresses.

Cinderkit5

The aladdin live action is pretty decent in my opinion compared to most of the other live action movies. I think it's actually worth watching. Mulan live action ruins the character and motivations of Mulan early on in the film. It's worth watching even to just get an understanding of why most Mulan fans dislike it.

Anna H

I gotta say I'm so impressed you called out Randy Newman as the composer right from the jump. I never clocked that myself when I first saw this but you're so right! The score similarities are very apparent once you pointed it out. I'm so glad you liked this one. This and Tangled are definitely my favorites of Disney's "revival" era. I hope so dearly that Disney will someday remember it's artistic and storytelling potential and go back to making these gems, particularly of the hand-drawn variety.

QwertyQ

I'm so glad you watched this movie! It's definitely one of my disney faves, and I'm glad you had fun with it~ Also you had me DYING with that grand kids line lol

Christina Moxon

This one deserved so much more recognition - but I think it's a bit too 'adult' in places and has less for younger children. It's quite dark in places so my kids find it too scary. I love it though. Enjoyed the reaction, Oscar.

James McCarthy

Maybe try some of the animated sequels before you venture into liveaction remakes. The Jungle Book remake is very good a nice take on the story but the others i would say are underwhelming. Aladdin 2, 3 and Little Mermaid 2 are very good though

Casey McClure

Great reaction! This was actually my first time watching this film as well. I cried seeing Ray’s star light up in the sky. I thought I was finally going to get through a Disney movie without crying, but oh well! 🤷‍♂️🥹

Payton

I remember seeing this in theaters when it came out. Tiana is my favorite Disney princess.

D2K9

I really slept on this movie when it first came out... I've not watched it again til now! I kinda love the nod to Ray at the end: Tiana's house band's name is "The Firefly Five" 😭😭😭

Dorran

I really love this movie! Dr. Facilier is such a wonderful villain to add to the roster of Disney villains! I also really appreciate that the love between Tiana and Naveen develops in a very realistic way, it feels like. They both come to realize that the other has something that they are missing in life. For Naveen, it is Tiana's sense of purpose and drive, while for Tiana, it is Naveen's sense of joy in life. I also LOVE that Lottie is, yes, a spoiled girl... BUT she isn't spoiled rotten. As happy as she is at meeting "Prince Naveen," she immediately drops gushing over it, to help Tiana when she sees Tiana's distress. She doesn't even go over to "Naveen" to tell him, she just calls out, staying by Tiana's side.

Kristen Patton-Schulle

Keith David as Dr. Facilier in this movie was my DREAM come true. I never knew how much I needed to hear Keith David as a villain singing in a Disney movie. It's AMAZING. And like other comments on this movie have said, I absolutely adore Tiana and Lottie's friendship. Yes, Lottie is absolutely a spoiled-ass rich girl. But she definitely was raised to believe that friendship was also important. Lottie adores Tiana like the sister that she never had and Lottie always prioritized Tiana over so much of the other 'important' things that she wanted. Lottie's character was more than I thought I was getting the first time I watched this movie. And I swear to God, I never not get emotional watching this movie. Especially during the scene where Dr. Facilier steps on Ray near the end. My heart breaks EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Saschaaaaa

YES YES YES, Pleaseeeee watch the "aladdin" live action!

Elaina

If your looking for a live action Disney movie to watch, I would highly recommend the beauty and the beast live action!!!

Rebecca Card

So, the Shadow Man’s name is Dr. Facilier, and in French, facile means “easy”. In the song “Almost There” Tiana sings about people taking the “easy way”. And Voodoo, in this context, is a shortcut to getting what you want without working for it. AKA, taking the easy way. The Shadow Man as antagonist mirrors Tiana’s determination to work hard vs Naveen’s desire to have things handed to him, and how Naveen learns along the way the value of working for what you want.

Alicia Cue

FUNNEST OF FACTS: the face of Tiana was originally based off my cousin! she was like an intern at Disney animation at the time if i remember correctly! i made sure to tell everyoneee at my school that when this movie came out😂 this and my other cousin being an extra in High School Musical were like the most exciting things ever to me at the time😂 And idk why but this reallyyyy made me want you to react to Dreamgirls. Anika Nani Rose voices Tiana and she also plays a role in that movie. it’s a musical and it’s phenomenal. I love this movie so much i think the music and the story and everything is really great…however it really always kinda rub me weird that Disney’s first black princess is a green frog for 90% of the movie🫣😂 like i do just have to side eye that a bit

I loved everything about this - to the true friendship between lottie and tiana, finally showing us in a disney way that fairytales won't work without putting true effort into it , and recognizing needs being met not wants being met is where the true balance is. and all to the great jazz music, the voice taients (both spoken and singing), and the humor and heart just makes this movie one of the best disney has produced. I hated that it didn't make as much as it should have. and even moreso this movie had the studio finally getting rid of the hand-drawn animation dept - those old desks that the nine ole men worked tirelessly to bring us snow white, bambi, pinocchio, cinderella, sleeping beauty, robin hood, the little mermaid, and the other true disney classics.

Kimichu

I'm glad to be able to support you again, Oscar! Glad to see you're doing well! Thank you for this video. Have you seen Enchanted? If not, I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely!
