This was an absolutely beautiful film. I'm so glad I decided to give this classic a chance and I was not disappointed. So sad though! At least there is a lot of closure in the end as well as a good lesson for life. Enjoy :)

DomesticatedCryptid

I think I’ve asked you this before but you should def watch Sinners for the channel if you haven’t seen it already! Most of my reactors have and it is so so worth the watch

Maisie

It was very nice of you to do this for the person who has been asking for this for so long! Thank you.

Been waiting for this one! Please, watch Jojo Rabbit next.

Rebecca

The funeral home scenes in the movie reminded me of something: If you're after an underrated horror, The Autopsy of Jane Doe is so good. Heavy censoring required tho

Michael

Lol, I saw the email notification and my reaction was "oh no" (due to the ending). Guess he can watch Bridge to Terabithia now.

Ugh this movie is brutal and I've only watched it probably once in my life and won't ever again because I don't need to bawl my eyes out lmao. Also idk how else to make recommendations but if you have a list of movies to react to, can you add Holes (2003) to it?

Nanners

I’m glad you gave this one a chance. So many wholesome moments intertwined with sadness & grief. I’ve always appreciated the ending for exactly the reasons you stated. If you’re up for more 90’s movies, The Sandlot is a great one worth checking out.

Me: omg My Girl, I love that one!! Me 2 hours later, sobbing: I hate this movie, why would anyone watch it Just kidding, I still love this movie even if it emotionally damages me every time I see it!! If you want to see another really well-written 90s coming-of-age movie that takes place in the 70s, highly recommend Now And Then. It was my favorite when I was growing up.

Maisie

I just cried my way through this at 2am. I haven't seen it since I was Vada's age, and I forgot how much I used to relate to her.

Rhetorical Thrill

Because Macaulay Culkin had become a household name after breaking out in Home Alone, the marketing for this movie pushed his presence HARD. Imagine a generation of little girls rushing to see this because of him and then getting that bomb dropped on them. A wave of devastation truly for the ages.

Fashion Freak Diaries

I was so excited when I got the notification for this! I was one of the suggesters so I’m really glad you decided to give it a chance. I hadn’t watched this movie in several years. I have fond memories of it so I am really happy that I got to watch it again with you 🫶

Liam

So I just watched this entire video and my God. This movie is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. Brutal but brilliantly good. THIS MOVIE MADE ME LAUGH AND CRY. Oh my God the part where her friend died. I couldn't handle that man. That was so INCREDIBLY SAD!!!!!! Especially because he went back there to get her mood ring. OMG man that was sadder than some scenes in the movie Titanic. Yeah I agree when she jumped on him when he was in the casket and she said he can't see without his glasses. Oh God I seriously couldn't handle that. I'm crying just thinking about that. Man that was SAD!!!! I seriously can't put into words how AMAZING this movie is. Saying that this movie is amazing is for sure an understatement. Absolutely brilliant. I will always treasure this precious gem of a movie. Especially when her friends mom was talking to her and she said my mom is taking care of him in heaven!!!! I seriously couldn't handle that. Man I haven't cried this much in a long time. I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO INCREDIBLY MUCH!!!!!!! THANK YOU Emily for suggesting this movie your right it's an absolutely fantastic movie. Damn no wonder why you kept suggesting it. I can see why now. Man this movie brought out so many EMOTIONS!!!!! A truly BRILLIANT MASTERPIECE!!!!! So incredibly glad Oscar finally watched it!!!! Yes!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ this movie was written so well and it has SOUL. I love that song at the end of the movie talking 'bout my girl. What a catchy song beautiful to. I have always liked that song. There's something so like, smooth about that song love it❤️

Alli Lanigan

Please watch Marley and Me or Jojo Rabbit next!!!

First time I watched it was probaly the first time it was on TV. little me had already bedtime but I snicked to the livingroom door and watched few mins of it. My father caught me and took me to the couch, because he thought it would be a good film for me but the bee scene wasn't done yet soooo... but I liked it and watched it alot as a child in a "cut version" from my father so no bee's and no dead people in it. I like now as an adult I'm more enjoying the "adult stuff" like the Bingo Date, as a child I was so bored of the scenes and wanted them to stop but now it's cute and give me a smile. The Pagemaster is a great film from the 90s as well or all Sister Acts and Made in America if you want to watch more 90s live action. Or Blind Side / Saving Mr. Banks both my absolut fav films. could watch blind side every week.

Jenny MacRunnel

Oh wow, I'm so glad you weren't spoiled. People don't talk about this movie anymore, but it was so big when it came out. I remember a lot of parents were upset because of the death. This was one of my favorite movies when I was an early teen. I remember asking for this VHS for Christmas EVERY YEAR, and never getting it. It was one of the first things I bought for myself with my first job. I remember renting it as the video store so many times before I could finally buy it. I think my mom refused to buy it for me, because its so sad, and she hates crying at movies. I always felt it was cathartic. It still makes me cry just as much now, though. Maybe even more since I'm a parent. Those rocky moments in your teens, sometimes you just need something to cry to, and this was it for me.

Terminalviews

Don't forget War Games (1983), Project X (1987) and Flight of the Navigator (1986).

Midnight Crypt Worx

Watching this now, it brings back so many memories. I grew up with this movie, watched it almost everyday but it never really phased me like it does today, I guess being so young I didn't understand a lot of it I just remember watching 2 friends about my age at the time playing and having fun. Plus watching you react to this, its crazy I was so young watching this movie lol. My mom and I would watch this a lot, I lost her recently day before Christmas Eve..kinda hard to watch this but I had fun watching it with you. Anyway, Please consider the second one it's really good!

jenNjuice84

I hope you can get around to watch My Girl 2. I think it’s just as good and Vada’s older. Us children of the 80’s had to live our whole lives with this heartbreak of movie and it gets me every time lol.

Midnight Crypt Worx

OH and another grat Mak Culkin movie is this rare gem called The Good Son 1993 with Elijah wood!

Maike_Staytiny
