Yes!!! Thanks for this gem. Please, watch Jojo Rabbit/ The Impossible/ Immortals.

Maisie

OMG this movie gave me literal nightmares as a child. I had to sleep in an armchair in my parents' room for a YEAR when I was six. P.S. You now need to watch Maleficent! P.P.S. You're spot on, Shrek basically IS Sleeping Beauty. I was a bit surprised you didn't clock the scene where she's singing with the blue bird in the forest as the scene in Shrek where Fiona sings so high that the bird explodes. Your observation about everything turning green when they fell asleep blew my mind though!

Jim Schmitz

💓 My Hero! Along with the brilliant use of Tchaikovsky's music, this was my all-time favorite classic Disney.

Hey Oscar you have absolutely no idea how incredibly happy you made me by watching this. This is literally my favorite movie ever. So when I saw the notification that you uploaded this on here, I seriously COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!!!! I was in absolute shock and disbelief. When I saw the notification for this upload my jaw seriously dropped. I was wishing and wanting SO BAD for you to watch this movie for quite a while now. And I wasn't sure if you already watched it before. I'm glad you didn't watch it before so you can have a first time watching and reacting on here. I absolutely love you for this!!! Your my FAVORITE reactor ever so you have no idea how much this means to me. OMG this truly means everything to me. I grew up watching this movie and it really has a SUPER SPECIAL meaning to me. I truly hold this movie so dear to my heart. So I seriously can't thank you enough for watching this. I still can't believe this is real. It's going to take a while to sink in. This is even more special to me because I suggested this to you on YT a few weeks ago. And I was hoping so BADLY that you would actually watch it and you actually did! Absolutely incredible mate. So I will definitely be giving you a super thanks once you upload this onto YT so be on the look out for that. Thanks for making my day a day to remember for sure and so special! My heart is absolutely singing with pure joy right now. So thank you so much! Now you just have to watch another all time animated classic Disney's Alice in Wonderland (1951). I have never fainted before but if you watch Alice in Wonderland yeah that will be my first time fainting ever LOL. That is another movie that I dearly LOVE. I grew up watching that one to. And I absolutely LOVE THAT MOVIE!!! Please watch it!!!! Pretty please with a cherry on top!❤️ Alright thanks again Oscar. I LOVE YOU for this!💋❤️ now I won the lottery this time! I'm absolutely on cloud 9 right now blissfully happy and content

I like to think Samson is Maximus’ grand dad

utafoxy

if your interested in musicals that have incredible storytelling songs i have to recomend the musical epic. its a concept album for turning the odessey into a musical by jay and its incredibly well loved that fans created animations to go wit the songs. there are 40 songs in total 2 acts and 2 hours long.

Jim Schmitz

The animation style was unique for Disney. They tried to reference medieval tapestry and manuscript visuals throughout. And as noted, having a 'Fairy ex Machina" never hurts. "Maleficent" is the 'live-action' sort of remake with a different perspective. And, Brother, there's no way I could doubt you had some 'magical' intervention early on. Am I right, patrons?

Francisco Alvarado

Will it now be a good time to recommend Oscar to watch Fantasia?

CoinBase Executive 7

Also the haunting voice that Princess Aurora followed was indeed CREEPY. Especially that scene where she and the 3 fairies were in her bedroom and the fairies left her alone then you can see the fire in the fireplace die down and then you can see Maleficents eyes. Then you can hear the creepy haunting voice. It's actually saying Aurora you know. And the music too made the scene so CREEPY AND SCARY!!! But I still love this movie! But that voice was kinda similar to the voice that Elsa had to follow in the Disney princess movie Frozen 2. Just not as creepy LOL

Emily D Fredriksen

Ooo haven’t seen this in a while! Day 20: of suggesting ( wicked 2024)🩷💚

Rhetorical Thrill

When I was little watching a battered old vhs of this I thought it was the PEAK of romance. Now I’m just convinced the third fairy’s scrapped gift was supposed to be brains. “I can never see you again! Well, maybe some day. Come by tonight.” 🤣

Sarah Marion

This movie’s more about the three fairies than anyone else

Prim

Glad to see that you enjoyed this one, and that you're giving the older classics a go! Out of this era, I would highly recommend seeing 101 Dalmatians and Mary Poppins, which I think hold up the strongest. I love too that Maleficent's motivation throughout this film was nothing but complete pettiness (as fitting of a traditional fae), and that there's yet to be a villain to really dethrone her as the crown jewel of Disney's villains.

Maike_Staytiny

Now i really need you to watch the remake. In my opinion maleficent is THE best live action adaption Disney has made. It was the first I've ever watched and of course i was surprised by the new story, but i like it way more than the original

Michael

Yes, please watch Maleficent with Angelina Jolie. But speaking of classis Disney, don't forget about 101 Dalmatians, both the original animated movie and the live-action one with Glenn Close.

Sarah Marion

The song “Golden Brown” is stuck in my head, maybe it’s because of the medieval era

Vanesa Jimenez

Love this movie! It's one of my favorites in the classic Disney era. Yes I would recommend watching Maleficent. It gives this story a unique spin and perspective. Love your reaction as always. Your perspective and attention to detail is amazing. Thank you the double upload today as well.

Also when the 3 fairies were working on her evening gown I like how they couldn't pick one color for her dress! Make it blue! Make it pink! LOL. Actually she can't have her dress be blue (even though she looks great in blue) because Cinderella's evening gown was blue. But yeah pink is a perfect color for her. It's a super feminine color anyway. Perfect for a Disney Princess! But that was totally amazing at the end of the movie when the color of her dress kept changing colors because the 2 fairies couldn't settle on one color! Wow what a truly beautiful ending. I like how her dress got a little bit longer to. The animators extended her evening gown a little bit to make it even more beautiful at the bottom of her dress. Wow and the music was so beautiful to! Now ya'll can see why I love this movie! No other Disney Princess got to have 2 dresses one pink and one blue and princess Aurora is the top Disney princess because her dress kept changing colors at the end of the movie. That was brilliant. Such a Masterpiece this movie is

Sarah Marion

@6:43 you’re already blessed with that

CoinBase Executive 7

Alright so here are my suggestions 1. Psy, Gangnam Style the music video (2012) 2. Miracles from Heaven (2016) it's a family/drama movie starring Jennifer Garner, kylie Rogers and Martin Henderson 3. The Money Pit (1986) it's a comedy/drama movie starring Tom Hanks, Shelley Long and Alexander Godunov 4. Ghost (1990) it's a romance/thriller movie starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg 5. The Haunted Mansion (2003) its a Disney family/horror movie starring Eddie Murphy, Marsha Thomason and Terence Stamp 6. Saving Mr. Banks (2013) it's a Disney family/comedy movie starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson 7. Alice in Wonderland (1951) all time Disney animated classic movie 8. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) all time Disney animated classic movie! Absolute treasures!

Turnt SNACO

Fun fact: this was the most expensive animated film EVER made at the time, with a whopping $6 Million budget in 1959 - and it shows. The art in this film is timeless and breathtaking, like the Disney animation equivalent of intricate tapestries.

CoinBase Executive 7

Yes it was truly a pleasure growing up with this treasure/masterpiece and Alice in Wonderland (1951) both absolute treasures and masterpieces

KW

Oscar doesn’t need fairies he is already beautiful.

Thomas B

“where was my fairy bro” oh she was there Oscar gah damn

Thomas B

please watch Robin Hood (1973) it’s so good!

Teej

When I was very little, I used to be afraid of Maleficent.

Teej

I also recommend watching the movie Maleficent. It’s live-action starring Angelina Jolie, and it’s the story of her motives and from her point of view.

Timothy Peterson

Red and blue, purely to show off the technicolor.

Nicoya Greene

Definitely should watch Maleficent to understand why she is evil, it’s heartbreaking but understandable

Fireflye97

Sleeping Beauty is so much fun. If you want more classics, I recommend: Robin Hood (1973) The Black Cauldron (super underrated) The Aristocats (SO CUTE!!) The Rescuers

Katie Niekamp

Sleeping Beauty is one of the simplest movies story-wise but the art is so intricate and magical and elegant. There are only a handful of Disney movies that match the detailed art of this film. I agree with those suggesting Maleficent to learn about her motivations. Angelina Jolie is great in it.

Cory Treadwell

In the fairytale, Aurora is asleep for 100 years. The fairies sent everyone else to sleep so when she did wake up, everyone would still be alive.

Kimichu

yay, sweet old Disney! Day 3 I ask Enchanted (2007). This is a good and kind Disney joke on their own old cartoons. I'm sure you'll like it!

Cinderkit5

watching this again as an adult is such an interesting experience. I've seen all the classics but only when I was young

Keirstin Meunier

I swear I probably watched this every other day when I was little. And I already watched it twice this year LOL. It's a major comfort watch. I find the animation style so unique in this one and Tchaikovsky's music Disney-fied is great.

vidre crystal

love all your content, old movies are the best the swan princess is one i love from my childhood, i hope you get around to it that and black cauldren

mia lily 🌸

definitely watch maleficent, it shows the tragic backstory of maleficent, and its played by the iconic Angelina Jolie! xx

Eve Swayze

I loved reading my old childhood picture book on this cartoon, the art looked so wonderful to me, maleficent is so badass as a dragon

Raquelly Reacts

An interesting watch as an adult. I do recommend maleficant it’s good from what I can remember But I highly recommend watching the show Once upon a time. So here it is Day 1 of recommending Once upon a time

Raven Dark

Great reaction, Oscar. Love this movie. I concur with above recommendations for Wicked. I'm dying to see a reaction to that from you!

Sarah Marion

I really miss villains like this

PixelKey

Are you open to reacting to anything by Aardman Animations? Stuff like Wallace and Grommit and Flushed Away. Chicken Run is a great movie, one of my favourites

Kayla Gerber

I would recommend Maleficent. I know most of the live action remakes aren't that good, but I feel that Maleficent actually tried to do something different and made an enjoyable film.

Shanae K.

One of my favorite. I love the song that in here.

feyatsirk

I havent seen Sleeping Beauty in so long despite the main song constantly being in my head (Once Upon a Dream), so this was a fun rewatch! I much prefer Maleficent (2014) though to this lol The part that was always odd to me....spinning wheels were used to make yarn, which in turn was made into clothing and such... did.... did the kingdoms just have excess clothing? Or did they all just have to spin their wool some other way????? Also Dreamworks was (co)founded by an ex-Disney CEO, Jeffrey Katzenberg! Disneys nephew Roy didnt like him and kept threatening him basically, so he quit in '94 when his contract was up and went on to co/produce the most classic Dreamwork films (including Shrek which is why it pokes fun at so many Disney fairytales lol)

Vanessa Nalani

This is my favorite disney movie! You will love the live action Maleficent it's an amazing twist on the cartoon. Angelina Jolie is truly wonderful as Maleficent. It's my favorite live action next to the Cinderella live action. Oh and there is also a Maleficent part 2. Love your reaction as always. Every background in every scene of the cartoon we're actually paintings that were done for every frame. It's why i love this cartoon so much. It's beautiful to look at. It was the last cartoon that was ever made that way because it was so expensive. There is a short documentary about it.

Jim Schmitz

I always thought that it would be a great trivia question: Which color did the dress finally end up being?

Rk Monger

truly brilliantly artistic - the style is still disney but definitely different in the artistry. take a look at their behind the scenes 'making of' if you can - awe-inspiring, especially for the artistic journey. LOVE your reactions, as usual. so many times you hit the nail on the head ...

Sarah

For musical storytelling I'd recommend The Last Five Years (specifically the movie with Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan).

Samuel

I think a show you would actually quite enjoy is Once Upon a Time - sort of revamps a lot of iconic fairy tales and has quite a bit of Disney refs and characters as well.

Andrea Ortega

Hey Oscar, Please considerer to watch Anne with an e, I think you would like it!!!

James McCarthy

Woo this one is a great classic, the three good fairies are spectacular protagonists they do not get enough credit for how lovable and cool they are. Maleficient is awesome and the kings are fun too. Shame the prince and princess are underdeveloped but they are really not the main characters of this one

Samantha Haben

love this disney movie, its definitely my favourite along with snow white. Side note, pleeeeeeease react to Princess Diaries 2. I know you reacted to the first one a long time ago but I have been super excited to see you do the second one as well!

Lya

Love revisiting a classic! The only thing I remember about watching this when I was younger was liking all the sparkles, and even now I think the sparkle animations and the sound effects are so fun and whimsy haha I think you'd really enjoy watching the modern "Maleficent" films if you haven't already! An awesome retelling of this story in my opinion

UnKay

I kept thinking this had to be a reupload but finally remembered it was Nick Reacts that I recently saw 😅

Lawson Lim

"Where was my fairy, bro?" Dude, you 100% already received your gift of beauty.

Astoria

As a child I was so scared the whole time when Aurora was under the spell and followed the light more than the fighting in the end And I don't know but a kiss from her parents would work as well or from the fairies they loved her like she's theirs daughter But of course it must be the prince to kiss her 😂

Astoria

Fun fact the whole pink and blue dress thing was only because the illustrators themselves couldn't agree on what colour the dress should be and included their "dispute" in the film to have both versions in it. Disney cut the original story because there are 13 fairies but the king and queen had only 12 golden plates and that's why they didn't invite Malifacent. Can't remember if it was a random choice or because of her gift (something like smartness or knowledge). I know both versions but not sure which one is the original original story and her sleep took 100 year's till her daughter (a lot of men tried and did other things...) kissed her and Aurora finally woke up.

Rose Ellen

I think you'd love The Swan Princess!!

John

"Where was my fairy, bro?" I'm here, I'm just on the wrong continent.

demon8883

So you have plans to watch Maleficent now. I really enjoy how much it actually does take from the original movie

Dylan

"Where was my fairy ?" Dude, you're everybody's crush ! So don't worry about that 🥰🫣
