I had an absolute ball watching this film! So shocked to finally see why this movie is so iconic as well as its main character, Captain Jack Sparrow! I cannot wait to see the rest of the franchise! Enjoy :) p.s. please let me know if you have any trouble with syncing your copy with my reaction. Ta.

Sometimes i do have trouble with syncing, because my pc like to lag/freeze my copy for 10 seconds or so before it continues and then it's kinda difficult to pinpoint your current times stamp. Maybe you could display a small timer on the video?

So glad you saw this, what a great film :)

These films are iconic and Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the best modern creations. Johnny Depp is awesome. What a great franchise to pick after Harry Potter!! Looking forward to the rest of them.

If you don't already know, the movies are based on Walt Disney's ride of the same name. The role of Captain Jack Sparrow was originally written for Hugh Jackman; however he was not well known outside of Australia at the time so Disney cast Johnny Depp instead, who was fairly well known. Johnny Depp based the character of Captain Jack Sparrow on Keith Richards from The Rolling Stones (who appears in the third film). Depp also improvised Jack's catch phrase, "Savvy?" Additionally, one of the film's last lines, "Bring me that horizon", was conceived by Depp the morning the scene was filmed. Jack's “drunk walk” is actually the result of his "sea legs". When he's on land his walk is unbalanced, while at sea he walks straight. That is because he spends more time at sea than on land. Some people consider it as a triology because 4 and 5 are not as good as 1-3, but I always say to people to watch it and decide for yourself. It may be an unpopular opinion but I personally enjoy both. Btw there is an end-credits scene in all of the films (at least 1-3).

Great Reaction!! I grew up going on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland, so it was fun finding out it was being made into a movie, but not knowing what to expect. It was cool seeing some of the ride implemented in the movie. I remember watching it for the first time in the theater and I kept pointing at the screen “that’s from the ride” “that’s from the ride” The prisoners trying to get the dogs attention who had the keys in his mouth was from the ride and it was so much fun seeing that come to life. Once the movie came out and was a huge hit, they incorporated Captain Jack and some scenes from the movie into the ride. Now people say “that’s from the movie” lol. I have only seen the first three movies, because like others have said, they didn’t like the later ones, but I’m open to watching them with you Oscar. Johnny has said that he loves playing Captain Jack and would continue playing him if given the opportunity. I’m not sure if Jack is his favorite character to play or not, but a man who has the range of playing Edward Scissorhands to Jack Sparrow is a special kind of actor. Let’s not forget Orlando… whether he has long blonde hair and wielding a bow and arrow or has dark hair wielding a sword, I remember having such a crush on him when these movies came out. He filmed the LOTR movies and then I believe he filmed this one which is how The Return of the King and this movie were both released in 2003. I’d say a pretty good year for him.

I’m actually glad I wasn’t the only one who had not seen this already haha. This was super fun! By the way…that coffee mug lol 👌

This film is a really rousing adventure. A definite call-back to the swashbuckling films of the past; from Treasure Island to Sinbad, Captain Blood and so many more. The story, acting and dialogue are great and the action sequences a joy. And let's not forget the score. The second film is also great. I think things go astray after that unfortunately.

I agree, the choreography in this film is perfect! However, I consider it a total scandal that the music did not even get an Oscar nomination ...

Im currently stuck in bed with the serious illness called man flu and ive never watched these films before so i thought why not now

Why the heck even after subscribing for money I still need to have my own copy?
