I did it! I watched Twilight finally. I really do have so many questions about this film I am assuming will be answered in the next instalments. I was so perplexed at some of the ideas in this film but it toed the line between creepy and romantic beautifully. Enjoy :)

Which character was your favorite by the end of this movie? Mine was Charlie (Bela's dad).

I’m so glad you did this…I’m always curious how people feel about this movie 😂 It’s an absolute cheese fest but I can see why people enjoy it lol. It feels like it’s good actors that are given not so great dialogue 😬 I never read the books so I’m not sure how true it is to them, but the general story line is good. It’s definitely still fun to watch for some reason. Bella’s dad is 100% my favorite character in this series, followed by Alice. Also, prom was only okay...but I always preferred homecoming 🤷🏻‍♀️ And mine was DEFINITELY not quite that spectacular lol.

Grew up reading about vampires & werewolves in books and comics, so not really sure how I feel about these movies. Maybe I'm not the right demographic for the films but some of the cast I absolutely adore - Robert Pattinson is very talented (so good in 'Little Ashes' from 2008), Anna Kendrick is always a win, and Michael Sheen is that "good" penny that always shows up when least expected. We also have three X-Men cameos- Booboo Stewart (Warpath), Edi Gathegi (Darwin) and of course; Daniel Cudmore (Colossus). The UK had a great show called Being Human - about a vampire, ghost and a werewolf - that I found really entertaining, poignant and just super charming as most BBC programming tends to be. Later the SyFy (yeah it's a silly anacronym) channel put out an Americanized version of the series that copied the UK version to an extent for it's first season, but once it found it's own footing - it held it's own in the subsequent 3 seasons. Thanks for the review Oscar!

Crazy and fun watch. My first time viewing any of the Twilight movies. I'm about 40 years past the demographic. But I was aware of the hype and appeal, and after watching this, I can understand it's popularity. Like you, i see the humor, the cheesy dialogue, but also the interesting story line and striking imagery. Great reaction. Thanks.

Oh you poor soul. It gets worse from here. This is the "best" of the movies. Relationships get more toxic and a story line actually goes into oh my God creepy. It's um, it's something..

Best to watch the series by just trying to have fun and not take it seroiusly. It's actually best to watch in a group of friends just to have those laughs together - there is so much unitnentional comedy going on.

This movie 🙄 well I do not like this movie at all, sorry to all who does) only watched 1st one and that's enough. But have you seen Pitch Meeting reactions? They are so funny and I would recommend to see for these series for sure, better than the actual movies 😂

Did you know that Rob and Kristen were a couple in real life when these movies were made? They met on set. I agree with everyone, Bella’s dad is awesome I remember a lot of people didn’t think Rob could play Edward Cullen after seeing him in Harry Potter, but I think he pulled off the mysterious, brooding bad boy. A lot of people also have a problem with the Vampire lore in these books/movies. Vampires aren’t supposed to glitter like diamonds in the sun. They are supposed to burst into flames and kill people, not live among them and fall in love with humans. Yes, glittering skin is silly, but I looked past that. I’m a hopeless romantic so I look past the cheesiness. I thought it was interesting that Edward had been alone for 100 years waiting to find someone and ends up falling for a klutzy human. I also think it’s interesting what it must be like for him that he can read everyone’s mind except hers and that he wants her to live her life and not be like him, but she wants to be a vampire. I hope you watch the rest of the movies, I’ll watch with you. You will learn more about Taylor Lautner’s character and the pact between the Cullen family and the Native Americans. You also mentioned that there was more behind Rosalie’s (the blonde vampire) dislike towards Bella and you will learn more about that too. And so the lion has fallen in love with the lamb

As someone who "purposely" moved to Phoenix AZ with a friend - I can say that it feels like someone's left the oven door open all the time. We will get cooler weather in the Nov-Feb months but before you know it, it's sweltering again.

I really hope you watch all the films - they certainly aren't "traditional" vampires but the stories are really imaginative and I think the whole universe is fun. I personally never saw the attraction in Rob playing Edward, he doesn't do it for me... Team Jacob all the way! I get a little irritated with people who watch the films now after seeing memes for years and hearing bad things about them, who go into them expecting them to be awful - it's a self fulfilling prophecy. The thing is, these films were made for the fans during the absolute frenzy that surrounded the books when they came out - much in the same way as Harry Potter did, except it's obviously more of a niche audience playing to tween/teen girls fantasising about being swept off their feet by the dangerous bad (but good) boy, whereas HP has universal appeal, so a larger audience. As an early to mid teen, this would have absolutely been my fantasy - sadly I was slightly too old for that when they came out, but I was close enough in age that I could still enjoy the books with that hat on and thoroughly fell in love in Jacob through the books!! Then of course when the films followed I had to see them all too, and I genuinely loved them despite their sometimes cheesy interpretations of the books! So, I'm really glad that although you had a slightly trepidatious feeling going into this one, that you kept an open mind and (whilst rightfully giggling at the silly bits they made a bit too cheesy and the weird ketchup thing) found that you enjoyed the love story and the universe that you've started getting to know! I really enjoyed your reaction, I felt it was really balanced and fair and I enjoyed watching with you. My favourite thing about the films, the first two especially, is actually the atmosphere they've managed to create with the filter and the rain and the trees and the clouds and the fairy lights, and also the use of the piano (and violin) music throughout - the brooding, almost dreary atmosphere with the colour and the trees and rain is my kind of cosy - I absolutely love it, genuinely!! And piano music is my secret pleasure - I am not even asdhamed to admit I have the Twilight Classical soundtrack on my Spotify playlists as I find it so soothing and lovely to listen to, it's perfect music to work to is you need to concentrate! Also, the song Edward writes for Bella, which is called Bella's Lullaby, was decided by the book fandom to be a beautiful song called River Flows in You by a wonderful pianist called Yiruma - he has some incredible songs, again you can find him on Spotify, I recommend this one and my other favourite is Kiss the Rain, but they're all amazing. When they wrote the film, they didn't use that song, but had the composer (Carter Burwell) write a new piece for Bella's Lullaby - you can download both off the internet at varying levels of complexity if you want to learn them on piano - I did :)

As usual, I read the books before I saw the films. And as always, the books were (of course) superior - but I did enjoy the films. It struck me, even as I was reading the first book, that the target audience for this series was probably young women - the youthful romance novel with a twist.

PS: the actor that plays Bella's dad is great

I went to see all the movies in the cinema but I was never a diehard fan. I also started reading the first book but I couldn't finish it (the movies are slightly better). The main issue I have with these movies is not the bad acting or the cringy lines but the fact that such unhealthy relationships are glorified and romanticised (like Fifty Shades which ironically was written as Twilight fan-fiction originally). It's SO problematic. Bella & Edward are also so incredibly boring. Bella is literally the most boring & useless character ever and Edward is boring & creepy. It baffles me how Edward's abusive stalker-y behaviour was considered not only normal but romantic. Jacob isn't that great either even though I think he's a more interesting character. And Charlie and the rest of the Cullen family. Even the villains. Pretty much all the other characters are more interesting than Bella & Edward and the stupid love triangle. These movies are a guilty pleasure though and the reactions to them are always fun.

ive been waiting for this to happen knowing that you will be watching it from a no judgement zone. it is kinda funny tho

Stella Keil

When I was a teenage girl I thought these movies were romantic. As I grew older they kinda turned into unintentional comedies. When you have the right mindset and don't get to affected by cringy lines, it is so much fun to just laugh at how serious the movie took itself.

When Bella gets her Truck, I always think: THAT is the MOST hideous and ugly car I have EVER seen in my life (including Fiat Cubo, which is arguably the most hideous car in Europe ever made). And she thinks it's "perfect" 😝

I've watched your reaction several times and enjoyed your in-depth commentary. After seeing a few more reactions, I decided to go back and rewatch the saga, but the extended versions and a lot of plot holes are covered in those versions. The characters are more fleshed out, and the story isn't as awkward. I think I prefer the extended versions, all and all.

The thing is, Kristen Stewart is a good actress, some of her other movies are really good. I feel like this was bad direction actually. It gets a little better as the movies go on. Its almost painful to watch at times in this one.
