This film is hilarious!!! Such brilliant acting from a kid and his comedic timing had me in stitches! Also just a beautiful message about not taking what you have for granted. Perfect Christmas film! Enjoy :)

Hi Oscar, I keep forgetting that you are a young guy and that your family didn’t let you watch certain movies growing up. Home Alone is one of those classic movies that “everyone” has seen before. So many people have parodied when he slapped his cheeks with after shave and screams and you might hear someone say “Keep the change you filthy animal” Macaulay Culkin “Mac” plays Kevin and this movie catapulted him into a star. The movie was a blockbuster hit and made $285 million in the US alone. It’s hard to believe it’s been 33 years and Mac is now 43 years old. He had six siblings and the little boy who wets the bed is his real life little brother Kieran Culkin, but he played his cousin in the movie. The heavy set guy who plays the leader of the polka band who drives the Mom home is John Candy. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of him, but he was a popular comedian and actor in the 80’s and 90’s until he died unexpectedly. Mac starred with him in a movie called Uncle Buck before Home Alone and he basically stole the scenes from the star, John Candy. Home Alone was written by John Hughes who is a well known writer and director, after he wrote this movie, he gave it to director, Chris Columbus (who directed the first two Harry Potter movies) and suggested Mac for the role of Kevin. Columbus ended up seeing hundreds of kids, but none of them came close to Mac. They made Home Alone 2 with Mac and then they made a couple more Home Alone movies with other kids since Mac wasn’t a cute kid anymore, but they are not as good as the first two movies. When Mac was a young teenager, he was Richie Rich in a couple movies. Do you know who Richie Rich is? He is a comic book character and they made a Richie Rich cartoon about a kid who has everything and the mischief he gets into. This was really fun watching with someone who hadn’t seen it before. Everyone I know has seen it.

Little Women (2019) is a good movie to watch for Christmas. It has Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet and Meryl Streep. Very heart warming with a great loving family feels. Also good to watch it now because Friends will spoil the story for you (Season 3 Episode 13)

Funny thing happened to me the morning after I watched this with you. The clock in my bedroom was blinking 12:00!! I had lost power at some point in the night. Luckily, I use the alarm on my phone to wake me up. Something they didn’t have in 1990. Now I’m wondering if I would’ve woken up on my own or had been late for work

Re-watching this for the first time in decades and realizing that if cell phones were a thing back then, the movie would be over in like 2 minutes. lol

Home Alone and Home Alone 2 are so good! every time there was an overly dramatic scene with Kevin, it was in his perspective...so whenever he saw the old man he "perceived" him as the scariest person ever, so he was staring wide eyed, dragging a shovel, bloody hand, scowl on his face. he "perceived" the basement furnace was a demon taunting him. my favorite scene in this movie, is when Kevin puts the spider on Marv's face and Marv screams bloody murder then hits Harry with the crowbar....LOL

I'm watching this reaction now. Yes, in March! Lol. It is a classic to not enjoy all year. If you get time and are bored, Google made an ad with Macaulay Culkin as an adult re-enacting the movie but using their Google Assistant to set the traps, it's very nostalgic and funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lfHXKbsMLE

rewatching this, i don't think the parents or family were being unfair to kevin. Sure hes just a kid, but he was such a brat and so disrespectful to his mom from the start without any good reason.
