(no copy required) So yeah. It is pretty good to say the least. I found myself really enjoying the slight changes made to the story and I loved the way this live action show felt much heavier to begin with than the animated show. I am yet to watch the rest of the season but it's off to a good start. Enjoy :)

I REALLY enjoyed the first two episodes.. my only complaint so far is I think the girl playing Katara isn't very believable in her emotional moments, but im hopeful because the actress is very young, im sure things will get better!

I’d say it’s good, it’s not great, but it’s miles better than any other hypothetical live action attempt, and I do hope it gets a season 2 because I’m interested to see how the changes they’ve made will affect the plot. As for the changes, to me most of them range from “I don’t mind” to “I actually like it this way a little better.” Imo it’s like all of those Cinderella adaptations: they kept the important parts the same, and then played around with a lot of the finer details to create their own version of a familiar story. Like they rearranged puzzle pieces to create a similar but new image.

I've watched the og through multiple times, so tell me why I JUST now realised that the fire nation didn't attack the water tribes because they're just jerks and villains but it's because they assumed they killed all the air benders and the next avatar after air would be from the water tribe. Like that's why they took just the waterbenders🤦🏾😭 Also very very stoked to be watching this for the first time with you oscar

Just finished and I agree, Suki and Sokka were really really cute and I too am very curious to see how they deal with "future events". The only thing I'm really upset by is that Ozai isn't a black silhouette surrounded by flames with a deep voice at first, especially before we meet Azula. The fact that we didn't even get to see his face until book 3, and we met all the other major villains first and saw their fear and reverence for him, that made him so so much more terrifying. The way we saw what he was capable off before we saw what he looked like, made his eventual reveal terrifying, seeing his face felt like standing too close to an open flame. But then again, seeing Sozin during the comment does fill that gap a little bit aaaand getting more time with Daniel Day Kim and his gorgeous face is always a plus😂

This show is actually paying respect to the original and it warms my heart. It's great in it's own way with little nods to the original. Wayy better than I expected it to be. Just a little note on why the original creators left, they wanted to implement changes and the director didn't feel comfortable with doing that. So they left. What we see now would not be if they stayed. Which makes sense, some creators want to correct the "flaws" if they get another shot at their show. I'm so excited to bingewatch this. I also love how it's so much more darker, it makes sense. In the cartoon you knew that it was happening but we never really saw it. Now we see more and like you said, it adds so much context to it.

I did have low expectations just because of the live action movie tbh. When I heard the creators left I lowered my expectations more. But I also knew it couldn't be worse than the movie, so figured that I would probably like it at least a little lol

I'm not gonna lie, I had close to no hope at all and… I'm so glad I was wrong! The show is amazing so far! The cast is great, the changes are there, but understadable. So far, I'm happy with it! (and yes, Gyatso burial made me cry…)

I'm on ep 3 and there are some changes I'm liking and others I'm not. The effects look good for some stuff and WTF for other but at least the bending does look pretty good. The actors are all pretty solid, even the kids, which is already a massive improvement from the movie that doesn't exist yet you made me rewatch recently 🤣. I really liked ep 1 but I think it's getting progressively worse from there and I hope that doesn't remain the trend. I really disliked some character bits that got cut out and some weird mixes they've done, but I'd say it's still fairly decent even at its lowest so far.

Do not take everything they say in this show as new information, Oscar. I'm pretty sure that about Avatars being only able to manifest close to their shrines is BS. They made that up. It's true it must help thanks to the spirituality linked to them and it did help with Roku too but that's not a rule.

I've had a busy week and have only been able to watch 2 episodes so far. I was completely skeptical about live action, well because I saw ATLA about 18 years ago and immediately fell in love. No matter how good other adaptations may be, none of them will hold as special place in my heart as the original. I actually like how they showed the air nomands before the attack, their life, Gyatso. I like how they showed firebending with this ability to just burn people, it gives more insight into how one nation can defeat all others. For now I'm absolutely in love with Sokka, the actor is perfect for this role ❤️

I also have only watched the first two episodes.. I’m probably wait for you and watch them with you from here on in. You help keep me a little more optimistic ;) I’ve been enjoying the live action but was sad I didn’t see penguin sledding or a bit more play out of Aang. But now I’m realising if they made it as cartoony in personality, it wouldn’t match it being live action. Love Sokka! And his lines! 😂

I enjoyed watching this with you as it does allow me to enjoy the show a little more, after initially being annoyed by certain changes. There were several things in these episodes I did like though. When they showed Kyoshi in the beginning of episode 1 I got excited hoping we'd see more of her in this show, then episode 2 happened and I was not disappointed. I've watched the rest of the season already, but will continue to watch with you to hear your perspective

I was really prepared to hate it or at least roll my eyes repeatedly. Instead, I found myself genuinely entertained, and they even got a few tears out of me in the first episode… so I guess I don’t hate it 😂
