Top 10 R&B album ever. To take some pressure off Usher, this album is about Jermaine Dupri's, who wrote and produced most songs on the album, relationship. The album had great promo too since Usher and Chili, from girl group TLC, had just split up so everyone thought that's what it was about. You can really hear the MJ influence on "Caught Up" and "Red Light" then Prince on "Can U Handle It?" and "Do It To Me". The switch up parts that you liked is called a "bridge"; R&B artists don't do them often nowadays. It's so funny watching the younger gen listen to love music 😂 I will say this album has some great writing so maybe some of it is too descriptive lol Here's an album since you mentioned him: Justified by Justin Timberlake (you'll hear one of songs on your next put me on). Another banger from 04 is Destiny Fulfilled by Destiny's Child; its not too relatable but the music, and their voices, is good.
