Devin

For sure bro. Circles is so damn beautiful

Caleb Rose

He died of a drug overdose from laced pills one month after this released. Makes the content matter a lot more somber when you revisit

Caleb Rose

For the last song so it goes mac asked his producer Jon Brion to make it sound like the ascension to heaven. He did a fucking amazing job

Lingussp

Still such a good album

Marquessadilla

i really appreciate you reacting to this bro its been one of my favorite albums of all time forever and seeing you love it as much as you did was a treat. you absolutely need to listen to circles now though. it's one of the best posthumous records ever and a perfect follow up to swimming and conclusion to mac's career.

Love seeing Mac on here since I grew up on him since I was 10. I think what made his music so special was the emotion he put into the music. It’s pure authenticity, whether it’s his lyrics or his voice. A lot of artists try to concoct something superficial but it’s so sincere from Mac that it puts you into his own feelings. That’s how i’ve always seen it at least. Great reaction, much love!

Also, Swimming and Circles together are something else from music. But, if you’re to enjoy any Mac album the most it’ll be GO:OD AM

So It Goes is a reference to the book Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut. The book is about Vonnegut's experiences in WW2 and the phrase is used whenever someone dies. The ending of this album is indeed an ascension as you said - the ascension into heaven. I remember Mac saying in an interview that "Right now, I like to end my albums with death. I don't know why." Off the top of my head, Faces, GO:OD AM, The Divine Feminine and Swimming all end with death. Circles on the other hand ends up where the albums starts, creating an eternal circles (much like how Mac's legacy through his music is eternal).

barely finishing the reaction but man jet fuel has to be a top 5 from him

I’m checking all the Mac out, but you need that GOOD AM album, his best flows on that, and watching the movies with the sound off
