I’ve been writing a Vikings fanficition on an off for a while now, but there’s one thing I felt like I should bring up for those familiar with the culture or show.

when a Viking raids he kills innocents and rapes women. i feel like it would be pretty unrealistic of me to depict the MC with the same morals of today and would be pretty immersion breaking but I also realise some of you guys might not like this sort of thing which is cool I don’t really either beyond doing an accurate depiction.

Why would give a viking the morals of a modern man ? Then he wouldn't be doing anything like raiding or fighting.

Man if you're going to depict Vikings then you need to depict them as they are, not try to give them the morals of modern men... these men were soldiers, raiders and sailors also more to the point there is really no known instances of Vikings raping female captives also when is this story supposed to be set ?

Bro I agree I want to depict them that way. But I don’t agree that Vikings did not rape their captives, while it may have not been explicitly stated since it was over 1,000 years ago, but it is inferred by their lifestyle. They also owned thralls (Slaves) that had no rights and could therefore be used at any time. Though with free women it was a different story.
