Heyo!

Surprise surprise, I'm still yapping about AI. I do a good job butchering a lot of information and terms, but don't worry, this will be the last time I mention AI in a BTS.

I really like science and technology and stuff like this is interesting to me from a technological standpoint, all the debated discussions ongoing aside bout it's implementation and what not.

I hope you all are doing well and taking care of yourself!

yap tiem!!! i always love these long form tech talk type BTS’s :DDD i think the setup you’ve made thus far with ollama + openwebui is super cool!! it’s very snazzy and it’s even cooler that you are learning more about programming and python too! i think programming is awesome and it’s a good skill to have, and just helps with computer literacy imo. so i hope you are able to learn more and be a based programmingmoder!!! the internal mechanics of how this stuff works is really quite fascinating, especially in regards to how it sorta has a black boxy-ness to how it makes connections and stuff :000 we have a lot to learn about neural based structures i think, both digital and biological we are def in the very early stages of this technology, so it makes sense there’s not a lot we understand, but at the same time it’s a little unsettling. especially how you get into what this could all look like in the future and how the internal mechanism of alignment isn’t well understood, it’s fascinating for sure i really hope the future ends well, because as someone who also is interested in sci fi the idea of a future with this sort of technology further developed, it could result in very good progressions in society in terms of quality of live…or MGS IRL XDD but we shall see one way or another. either way, we find ourselves in interesting times. and with how fast things are progressing, who knows what’s ahead? though you make a good point, there could come a day, maybe soon, where the progression of these models plateau to a point where further gain realistically can’t be gained, so who knows really. only time will tell! the technological singularity i agree will likely occur within our lifetime, as for what it entails, it is hard to say but…let me just say kojima has an idea or two : PPP (the conversation between “XO” and Zero in MGSV comes to mind “This world will become one, I have found the way” …also death stranding :PPPP) hopefully whatever happens, it isn’t super spooky though donut worry you haven’t lost your mind:PP i think this stuff is very cool too!! and it’s important to learn about i think because it’s being integrated into so many aspects of modern life, for better or for worse (even at my workplace!) it’s very true that these models can only interface with text, but there are models for image recognition, and really other niche levels of analysis like in the medical field, so who knows what will come of these sorts of models being mushed together so to speak to form a larger whole. i think we’ll see some interesting results from that. it is regrettable though the consequences of the commercial aspects of AI/LLM stuff whatnot with data centers and the environmental consequences as well as the geopolitical and sociological consequences…but in your case you are running it on your own hardware, for educational purposes, and your own power too. so from that perspective I don’t think it’s any more harmful than doing anything else on your PC. and you are learning and having fun, which is what is important!!!! these tech BTS’s are quite long but i for one am all for it!!! i am fascinated by these sorts of things, but that’s just me lolol pawsome BTS as always sanguine! always love these tech ones, as always you da best 💯
