Hey Humblerinos! How is it almost the end of May already?

New Race Art

We’ve started to get some of the new art in for the new races. Do you recognize the eluran warlock from these sketches?

Eluran Warlock Work in Progress by Mariah Tekulve

That’s right! She’s the same character that you picked out with the STL poll all the way back in January! We liked her vibe so much that we wanted her to be the representative of the eluran race in the book too. You’re already influencing the final book! What other things do you think the community could come together to decide on for Humblewood 2?

More Writing

We’ve got some really cool details coming in about the Tanglewilds from one of our collaborators. Since Humblewood 2 covers a whole continent, we’re giving plenty of space to the four major regions. We can’t wait to show you what the writers have been cooking up!

Preliminary gadget sketches by Josiah “Jo” Cameron

The rework of the fizzar class is nearing completion. We are thinking about changing the name though. Fizzar is a very specific type of artificer, so we are thinking of making it the name of one of the subclasses so it can really fizz! The team has been throwing around the name “gadgeteer” for the class as a whole. We’re very excited to show you this next version of the class. If you like tinkering with your characters and having the right tools for the job, we think you’ll enjoy it! This is a class for people who want to flex their creativity in more ways than one!

Mawlrus sketch by Jordan Richer

We also enjoyed building the mawlrus this month in our design class. It’s given us a lot to think about when it comes to what it means to be a giant in the world of Everden. Megafauna seem like an ideal fit in a world of anthropomorphic animals. We’re working to find our own Humble spin on giants. How do you picture giants in Everden?

Hit Point Pets

As you might have guessed, we love animals here at Hit Point Press. So we thought we’d introduce you to our furry colleagues. They’re the ones who really do the hard work around here! (By hard work, we mean take naps and be cute.)

Edwina - Department: CED (Chief Executive Dog) Class: Sweet, shy druid.

Enkidu - Department: Writing & Editing. Class: Rogue because he emerges under the cover of darkness and always carries 18 knives.

Enzo - Department: CED (Chief Executive Dog). Class: Noble, no more adventuring for this majestic lad.

Fiora - Department: Marketing. Class: Druid because her favorite thing is communing with nature (and devouring fresh catnip sprigs).

Frankie the Tankie - Department: Writing & Editing. Class: A Way of the Aggressive Snuggler Monk.

Georgie - Department: Graphic Design. Class: Georgie is a multi-class Bard Rogue and likes to think she has an awesome stealth mode but her excitement over her potential hoard is usually her undoing. She usually gets away with her crimes though, as she charms her way out of trouble 99.9% of the time.

Gilgamesh - Department: Writing & Editing. Class: Paladin because he’s not afraid of anything, has high charisma, and hunts ghosts.

Jaws - Department: 3D Sculpting. Class: Warlock. The sheer amount of chaos she causes has to be some sort of payment to a demonic patron.

Lacey (aka Augusta Ada King, the Countess of Lovelace) - Department: Writing & Editing. Class: Glamour Bard because she’s enchantingly cute, and she likes to use the suggestion spell to suggest she gets more dinner and more cuddles.

Luna - Department: Art. Class: Barbarian because she's beautiful until she goes on one of her rages and digs out a potted plant or drags trash all over the upstairs.

Rebel - Department: CED (Chief Executive Dog). Class: A very chaotic warlock who despite being very low hit points is the one in front.

What We’ve Been Listening to this Month

The team sure does have some pretty varied musical tastes! A podcast even snuck in there this month!
