Happy new year, patrons!

We're so excited to start rolling out our new content that we've alluded to in fall and winter of 2022! Bear with us as we work on updating our main page and tier lists to reflect the new changes. 🙏This month, we’d like to introduce the Field Guide to Floral Dragons series! We’ll be releasing a booklet of four dragons every three months. 🌸

The Field Guide to Floral Dragons is an introduction to the mysterious world of floral dragons, unusual and elusive creatures inspired by real world plants and flowers. Beautifully illustrated by artist Kin Wald, each Floral Dragon booklet will feature field entries about new floral dragons, with notes from the point of view of the adventurers who discovered them.

The Floral Dragons each include a full stat block to be used in your 5e campaigns. 💪

Meet the WISTERIA DRAGON.

One of the most striking dragons, the wisteria dragon can grow to prodigious size, standing around 15 feet tall, with a body length of up to 60 feet. Its tough, gossamer-like wings can span nearly 40 feet, and it weighs anywhere between 15,000 and 19,000 pounds. Its body is covered in tough, woody scales, further protected by iridescent plates that shimmer with magic. ✨

Along its body, hanging rows of delicate white, purple, or blue flowers bloom with a sweet, musky fragrance. A wisteria dragon only grows these flowers once it reaches adolescence, and they are the source of its magic. While these dragons can live to be nearly 800 years old, they are vulnerable when young. Their greatest defense before flowering is a toxin produced naturally within their bodies that can sicken creatures who try to prey on them. 🤢

Solitary by nature, wisteria dragons are known for the disdain they show toward other living things, caring only for themselves. They are highly intelligent and command powerful magic that allows them to freely control plant life. 🧠

In addition, they can also learn divination and enchantment magic, as well as those which draw from their innate power over plants. Like most dragons, they are covetous, and keep vast hoards of treasure. They are also curious, and prize knowledge, though their subjects of interest skew toward arcane secrets, the location of treasure, or practical lore they can use to defeat their enemies.

What do you think of the Wisteria Dragon? Let us know! 🐉

Will this be offered in physical form or just PDF? If so, how many firstborn must I sacrifice to obtain it?

Oh man, I'm so excited for the stats for this one. It will fit right in with the homebrew campaign I am working through right now.

This is nice. Will there be a template that could be added to creatures that would like to serve these dragons? I’m immediately thinking of Wisteria dryads, pixies, and other creatures that could be related to flower themes.

Team Wisteria vs. Blight druid, blights, hags, and shambling mounds. Yep, I’m looking forward to these floral dragons.

Jonathan Alvear

Would be neat if there were a creature type they despised, like Undead (since Wisteria is associated with natural life and longevity).

I'm dumb, I just need to stay sub to this patreon to get this, yeah?
