Dounstragh the Doomspeaker is the immortal remnant of a corrupted oracle. With his all-seeing eye, he stares into the futures of visitors; with his terrible bottomless hunger, he steals those futures away. Those who encounter him might lose a few minutes—or they might lose a lifetime. The first prophecy he speaks is free; each one after that drains a little time from the end of his victims’ life. Despite the dangers, those who wish to know their futures still seek him out in his Eternal Forest.

After centuries of seeing thousands of terrible futures, Dounstragh is extremely stressed. He’s anxious, snappy, and impatient. He’s an unyielding pessimist, and if anyone expresses even the slightest optimism in his presence, he will respond with at least three ways in which things could go wrong. Despite his pessimism, Dounstraugh is very confident because literally everything he says comes true to some degree, so he has never been wrong in his entire life.

Dounstragh draws upon the power of the crystalline all-seeing eye that he carries at all times. The eye can show the viewer a tangle of possible futures. For anyone who isn’t a prophet or an oracle, this sight can have immense and painful consequences.

Dounstraugh does not relish combat but he does enjoy conversing with his victims. He prefers to outmaneuver his opponents using his prophetic abilities, separating them from their allies so he can drain the life from them one by one.
