The Red Reaper Preview - Thaddeus Myre (Patreon)

Heir to the prestigious Myre Barony, Thaddeus Myre was an inventor of little consequence. He squandered the family’s fortune on profit-seeking gambles, leaving his fiefdom impoverished and desperate. Thaddeus prized his reputation more than the comfort of his people and struggled with the unrest spreading across his land. In desperation, he made a pact with an archdevil for infernal power and was given the means of production, an arcane rod that allowed him to disassemble and reassemble matter to his liking.

Shortly thereafter, Thaddeus dreamed of a machine made of a shining red metal that would restore his name and fortune. He awoke with the knowledge of how to create this machine through eldritch ceremonies and humanoid sacrifices. As Thaddeus drew up his sinister plans, he feverishly ordered his guards to capture leaders of civilian uprisings and bring them directly to him. In grisly rituals, he transmuted them into the raw materials for his diabolical machine. 

Little by little, the uprisings were quelled, and at last, Thaddeus unveiled his creation: the Red Reaper.
