I like the story but am glad that this is NOT Canon. Would be very upset if it was but a good twist for Halloween

Yeah, not making it canon gave me the freedom to make it more outlandish and make certain creative choices without worrying about continuity.

I liked the first half (though Brad could have been a bit more proactive, and, as in last year's Christmas extra, Lynn's inclusion felt a bit close to non-consent). I only skimmed the second half; while certainly well written (as always), it isn't really what I come here for ;-) (to me the contrast to the usual stories also felt very stark, and I thought something more lighthearted would have been more suitable, but that's certainly subjective).

Yeah, I went a little darker than my usual stuff, especially for a holiday special, cause it was Halloween and I was trying to give it slasher/horror/mystery vibes. The Thanksgiving and Christmas specials are more typical to the lighthearted stuff.

A real "Scream" vibe to it and a devastating blow to lose Kat. Definitely does not belong in the main HH series but as a stand-alone Halloween thriller, it was very intriguing.
