Episodic storytelling galore this time around, but that's okay because all of these were fun. I just really want to get back to the actual plot and hopefully see Dagon!

What did you think of these 4 episodes?' Enjoy.

There a lot in the Carl episode why its called the darkest episode in the francaise I feel bad for Jennifer for developing Stockholm syndrome but I don’t feel bad for her r that she being an accomplish to Carl’s crimes Seeing Carl killing so many people is shocking and even more that they let Ben and Gwen see the corpses You see a lot of Jennifer background, she had a troubled childhood in a poor life and she finds Carl’s “love” for her important because it makes he feel special and important because she has low self esteem seeing she only got successful for her looks. But you can clearly see Jennifer loyalty is built on fear It was a bold but a rewarding move only having Ben and Gwen, Kevin is an important character because of his humor and comedy he brings but this was a great episode showing Ben and Gwen’s growth from annoying immature idiots to genuine friends who works together. It’s also shocking they showed a full grown man actually beating and trying to kill a teenager but when you really think about it literally happens every episode, but people usually forgets Ben’s a teenager when he goes alien and he mostly fights aliens, my dad always thought when Ben turns into an alien he becomes an adult. And the part when Carl decided to give up, return Jennifer and turn himself in, he claims it’s because of his “love” for Jennifer, but it’s not really love, it’s more coming to your senses and doing the morally right thing

Winterflower13

I would never trust someone named Dr Pervis

Winterflower13

It was really sad seeing Hope (charmcaster) heart broken again after literally losing her father twice The lite red new guy is Juryrigg. A Planchaküle from the planet Aul-Turrhen I dont like how gwen told ben that Juryrigg must have super powers because thats not how the omnitrix works. Its a storage for every species in the galaxy, creature with power or not. Also what really is a power, i mean for heatblast to shot fire, ampfibian electricity, fast tracks speed and four arms strength is not really powers, is just thing their species can naturally/biology is born with. I mean would you call human’s ability to grow hair and regrow skin to heal wounds a power

Winterflower13

The dream episode with albedo was really something special. Also that ending is literally a terrifying scenario. I kinda feel bad for him

That first episode is actually widely regarded as the darkest Ben 10 episode, and also one of the more down-to-earth ones. Carl's killing spree, Jen's messed up and confused mind. They showed a lot of dead people here and some suggestively disturbing moments like the bowl of blood, the doctor in the freezer with a missing face we didn't see. They really turned a mostly one-off and unimportant character into a tragic one with more backstory who, no mater how you look at it, became an accomplice and villain this episode. From flashy movie star to hollow, depressed celebrity. She really went from adoring Ben to hating and trying to kill him. I know it wasn't overarching plot, but it's one that intrigued a lot of the fandom for have "the darkest episode" label

Anriku

That's fair. Just didn't hit for me, I guess. I'd rather see those more mature vibes for our main cast rather than these side characters. I'm happy for those who like the episode.

Juryrigg (a Planchaküle) is indeed based off old-school gremlins, who traditional were said to fiddle with and sabotage things like machinery, particularly planes in war-time stories. His species in turn is highly inventive and crafty, being able to dismantle and craft all sorts of tools and machinery. I absolutely adore the Charmcaster-Dark Star episode, one because it’s kind of a cool relationship if it did work out, two because it sort of soldiers Dark Star’s role as a magic villain, but most importantly it truly highlights how much of a scumbag loser Dark Star really is, as well as the people like him irl. He only cares about himself, getting revenge, and “lovely Gwen” because she was the one who got away. People like Michael are nothing but heartless manipulators who use others for their own personal gain and fuck everybody else. It’s like Kevin said, he’s a loser.

Nemesis is meant to be a iron man satire so his tech is more advanced than earth tech he was the first person we saw fighting interdimentional monsters which later shoeed up in a later episode coming through portals so he isnt a chum actor or low ball he stronger than alot of bensenemies but he just the iron man level making advanced tech stronger than some alien tech

demonic-myst

The recalibrated omnitrix did used to download how to use aliens i ro his brain the ultimatrix does not since it was never meant to be used

ctualy the american syxtems the oposite eay around Ameeican prisons make money off having prisoners so they try to prolong sentenced for money its rare for somone to get parol under this sort circomstances

KrakenKing

This. The majority of prisons in America are privately owned and so run and profit off the pay they get from prisoner capacity.

Anriku

Yep, that’s part of it. I actually live here and have written research papers on the prison system and capital punishment, so I’m pretty familiar with how it works. That’s why I said he shouldn’t have been paroled—there’s a lot more nuance to it than just the money angle, but that’s a convo for another time. You’re not wrong for boiling it down to money, though. We are a capitalist society, after all. They don't call it the Prison Industrial Complex for nothing.

KrakenKing

Exactly, Captain Nemesis WAS a superhero before even Ben, but Ben was the new big thing.

You cant end global warming the ice caps been melting for 18,000 years the i e caps being fully melted is what begins the earths cooling cycle The earth goes between hot periods and ice ages periodicaly

Anriku

Totally get all that—for sure. Just being honest, though, I don’t really care about him or Jessica. 🤣 Especially when they give me a taste of the actual plot and then hit me with this. Same with the Ma Vreedle episode—if it were placed differently, I’d probably be a bit more lenient.

Anriku

It’s a cartoon, bro. Same kinda thing with Dr. Animo being on parole—you just gotta roll with it and crack jokes.

demonic-myst

I understand more nuonce to it im not super educated on the deeper nuonce myself but asumed their wouldbe

demonic-myst

Wasnt defending the choice of placing that episode in such a weird possition , just giving context

Anriku

It’s just a sad reality and one of the downsides of capitalism. Same thing with our Healthcare system. Wish it wasn't this way...

Anriku

I feel you bro. I appreciate you taking the time to give it some context.

Anriku

Good call. Didn't realize pterodactyl is an informal term to refer to pterosaurs

Darkus-Arcadian-Dragon

Jennifer developed Stockholm Syndrome shortly after the first episode she showed up, which if you don’t know what means it’s pretty wild and definitely wouldn’t think a show like Ben 10 would even touch on that kind of thing or have a character suffer from that kind of thing. But, yeah that’s basically the whole thing with Jennifer and Captain Nemesis. Also Jessica purposely dressed somewhat like Julie with the hair in the episode

Darkus-Arcadian-Dragon

I will say Dr Animo is probably one of the most overused villains in all of Ben 10. He’s been used so much so I’m surprised he hasn’t teamed up with Vilgax at all. I would have preferred if they brought back Eon or had another one of those prisoners escape from that jail in Area 51 😂

Zak Webb

We sort of got the team up in classic with the ben 10,000 episode

Darkus-Arcadian-Dragon

Minus the soul taking part id be happy living in the magic realm with Charmcaster XD In all seriousness Charmcaster just feels lonely at the end of the day. She doesn’t have anyone to really talk or be friends with. I believe if the Father was alive she wouldn’t be the way she is with being power hungry for more manna. Ultimately, she just wants normal life being happy using magic freely. But, because of how Hex raised her and her using dark magic she is this evil of a person.

Anriku

I'd feel bad for Albedo if this wasn't all of his own making.

Anriku

I'm glad you enjoyed the episode, bro. It's definitely a mature one.

Anriku

Agreed. I feel if they stayed together there would be no chance for Hope's redemption. Though, I feel like there' still no... hope. ;) Dark Star is such an easy villain to hate for sure. Such a narcissist.

Anriku

Yep. I know what Stockholm Syndrome is. I get the whole episode. I just didn't vibe with it and really just want the actual plot at this point. XD

Anriku

If her father was still alive, she would have never went down this path, so I agree. It would take a pretty big redemption moment to get past sacrificing 600k souls to Dagon. XD
